Lake Michigan/Beaver Island with incredible private beach

Want to get away from it all? Come unplug on Beaver Island with beautiful four bedroom, three bath home right on Lake Michigan....beach literally in back yard!! Sweeping views with amazing window seats flanking entire upstairs living room. Beautiful natural landscaping, stunning sunrises! Incredible screened porch and decks. See why Beaver Island is called the Emerald Isle and a "hidden gem."

Stunning 100 ft of beach, sandy bottom on 1.5 acre wooded lot. Stunning views from living room, bedrooms, and decks. Great view of lake from downstairs living room also! Private setting. Perfect 70 to 80 degree weather with amazing clear blue water. Water clarity is magnificent compared to landlocked homes. Very low light pollution makes this an unforgettable vacation where you can actually see the Northern Lights when conditions are right! Enjoy hiking, fishing, scuba diving, boat rentals, restaurants. There are even two sunken treasures off the island to explore. Unique Irish private island flavor with very friendly community.

Taxis, car rentals, hospital, grocery all on island. No reason to leave, but also quick flight to Mackinac Island. Mackinac is about an hour drive from Charlevoix. The ferry is 2.5 hour ride. We recommend the plane, which leaves from Charlevoix and is only around $65 per person for fifteen minute flights. Stunning views from plane!! Planes come and go from island multiple times per day. Easily accessible by ferry or quick plane ride for very low rates.

We have kayaks in garage for use, as well as several bikes. Firepit and charcoal grill also on site, along with pack-n-play for little ones. Accommodates 8-10 adults with current bedding and one small child in pack and play.

NO smokers, no firearms, no pets, no fireworks, no guests not included in rental agreement. WIFI has worked great. Feel free to ask any questions. We respond very quickly to inquiries and concerns.

Peace on the Lake
Shamrock Shores is a lovely, well-designed house that feels like real people decorated and furnished it for real living. The views are stunning, the private beach provides hours of rock hunting and water play, and the layout provided plenty of space for 4 adults and 3 kids to be together or all spread out. We could easily have added a third family and still felt comfy. Cooking in the kitchen was great — it was a welcome surprise to find the pantry and fridge stocked with guests’ gifts, as well as so many supplies for playing in the water. Our favorite detail was the window seats — it’s a good thing there are so many so we didn’t have to fight over them!

Wonder home on a private beach in a relatively secluded about 10 minutes outside of town. It is such a wonderful island community to have a family retreat.

Wonderful family retreat
The home is beautiful with a stunning view of Sand Bay. It is virtually new, so the rooms were spacious, which you don't always get on BI. The general living spaces were warm and thoughtfully conceived, and we had all we needed for indoor games, outdoor toys, and kitchen materials. It has a wonderful beach; I suggest water shoes as there are a few rocks. Our hosts were accommodating and responsive before and during our stay. We loved staying there and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Beaver island is a magical place. The Shamrock shores was a beautiful location to relax on the beach and explore the island. Clean, unique character, and plenty of room for 6 of us. The 3 season room was great on a rainy day.

Great house and a great location!
This was the perfect house for a family vacation with two families. The house is beautiful and clean. Our family enjoyed all the kyaks and beach toys. There was a fire ban on the island so we weren't able to have a fire but we sat out on the sand dune a lot. The view from this property is incredible and we were able to enjoy walks up and down the beach. The game closet is loaded with tons of games for every age. We defintely would love to rent this house again.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shamrock Shores, it's the perfect place for large groups. The house is beautiful, well-appointed, very comfortable with enough space for everyone to spread out. Great views, private beach, very quiet, and so relaxing. Water shoes are definitely a must. The hosts were very responsive. We all agreed this was the best vacation spot ever. Shamrock Shores and Beaver Island are gems! Thank you Josh and Kelly for sharing with us.

Awesome time Home was clean, beds were comfortable, decor made it a cozy. Host communicated by text a few times to check on us which was appreciated. The beach was priceless. It was private and no one in sight for as far as you could see up and down the beach our entire four day stay. We enjoyed the kayaks provided Beaver island is the place to be and a different experience than the tourisy mackinaw island. Highly recommend this property it will not disappoint. Bring bug spray

Fantastic Island Escape
I can’t say enough positive things about our stay on Beaver Island. The Hosts were outstanding - provided great communication, offered assistance when needed, and were able to accommodate an earlier than expected arrival. This was my first time on Beaver Island. Having grown up in Michigan I was initially surprised to find this island even existed. We stayed shortly before peak season so didn’t have the large crowds. Before booking off-peak understand that most restaurants and activities are either closed or operating with reduced hours. With that said, off peak was perfect for our “work a week remote” getaway. Fast internet worked great for conference calls and TV streaming. The “locals” instantly knew we were not from the island but were so friendly, gave us some great local tips, and always gave a wave when cars passed. It was too windy to use the outdoor fire pit but I can see this being a great feature. The beach was rocky (similar to many in Michigan) so water shoes are recommended. My favorite part of the stay: star gazing. I’ve been to many isolated spots in the world with limited light pollution. This stay provided a similar experience - a view of limitless stars across the entire sky. Absolutely breathtaking. The home itself was extremely comfortable and provided plenty of indoor/outdoor space. It can easily accommodate a large family but I found it the ideal size for a couples getaway. Strongly recommend this listing!

Shamrock get away
A beautiful property with amazing views. The owners were more then accommodating with booking so late in the season and communication was above and beyond. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a Beaver Island adventure to rent this place as it is central and on the Eastern side of the island with a stunning beach.

Very relaxing and inspiring stay at Shamrock Shores
We thoroughly enjoyed this well equipped beach home on the shores of Beaver Island! Josh is an excellent host who genuinely cares about his guests having a hassle free and pleasant stay at their Island home. It’s well stocked with beach and other outdoor toys and equipment to enhance your enjoyment of the space. Lazy mornings, enjoying the stunning Lake Michigan views and Stargazing by the fire pit on the beach were particularly moving. I would highly recommend both the home and the host without hesitation!

Paradise views
Our stay at Shamrock Shores was all that we hoped for. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location, east mid-island, is convenient for access to town, trails and beaches. We had one car and 7 bikes for 9 people and managed to do most everything we wanted. Beaver Island is paradise and we enjoyed the t-shirt and shorts life style for our special week. Kelly and Josh are excellent hosts and very easy to contact.

Heaven on earth is the simplest description of this destination spot. Best Family VaCa Ever.
If you're looking for a place to unwind and relax, renew your spirit, and enjoy pure family time on beautiful Lake Michigan, Josh and Kelley have the perfect place for you. They are the perfect hosts. Proactively attentive, pay attention to detail, have excellent communication skills including quick responses to questions. The house is spacious, newly redecorated, open concept, clean, with windows everywhere for a great cross breeze so no need for air conditioning, even in July. Overhead fans in bedrooms never even got used. The online description of this property is modestly accurate-exceeded our expectations. It is about 1/4 mile off the dirt road, and houses are not stacked on top of one another. Only one house to the right is close, but neighbor is friendly, quiet, respectful of privacy, and we rarely even saw him around. We had 7 adults and 2 kids and never felt cramped for space. The house is absoluetly fantastic. Tastefully nautically decorated, comfy couches and chairs, great window seats to lay on and read a book under the fantastic breeze. It is nicely equipped, including some great nice-to-haves. Even the garage was stocked with tools, charcoal BBQ, 4 rigged fishing poles, 4 kayaks. Kitchen, bath, basic pantry needs provided. Pick up firewood down the street, drive 15 mins for a week's groceries, (10 mins to gas station for basics). We brought one car over on the ferry so that we could bring some extras (3 collapsible netted hammocks to sleep out on the beach-not for lack of sleeping space in the house but for love of the night sky, 4 foldable camping and beach chairs to add to the 4 attorndak chairs by the firepit, boche ball, ladder ball, beach umbrella, beach blankets and toys). Our hot dog and marshmallow skewers were used every night. Nothing you absolutely needed, but things we knew that would enhance our outdoor time. Thanks to the washer and dryer there is no need to over pack. Island temperature is great, you can be comfortable in shorts or light sweats. The only negative thing we found about the island are beach flies that sometimes come out in the evening. 3 out ot 9 nights, but long pants and a fire fixed that. Mosquitoes were not a problem. Bring water shoes because there are rocks at the water's edge and beach. Everyone on the island walks around with a smile and I know why. We enjoyed every minute and hope to go back. Don't pass this one up! Best Family vacation ever!
