Beersheba Lake Retreat #3

Adorable cottage in a tranquil, picturesque setting on a private lake in the spectacular South Cumberland Mountains.

Delightful and cozy, this 2022 custom built 800 square foot two bedroom cottage will be your sanctuary from reality.

Fall asleep to the sounds of frogs and crickets, an occasional owl and perhaps the glorious sound of the beautiful whip-poor-will. And just think of the incredible stargazing you can enjoy lying on a blanket by the lake!

This home has an open floor plan that is designed for gathering together and enjoying the time to unwind. The living / dining / kitchen area is open and has direct access to the covered back deck + view of the private lake.

The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed, the upstairs loft has two queens to sleep a total of 6

The kitchen is fully outfitted for cooking.

There is a large stone fire pit by the lake with comfy Adirondack chairs. Picnic table for family meals by the lake.

Enjoy walking the perimeter of the lake through the quiet woods of over 9 acres, with wildflowers, and beautiful native plants and trees along the way. Only one other house has access to the lake and property and it is discreetly tucked away out of sight.

Pack a picnic lunch and walk to the other side and enjoy the solitude!

You are welcome to bring your kayak and fish to your heart's content, you will find bass, brim, crappie and catfish. One end of the lake would be suitable for shoreline casting. Please note that the lake does not have a beach, but is surrounded by protective wetland along most of its shoreline. You can launch your kayak easily, however it is not suitable for wading or swimming.

The house is located down a long gravel driveway.

Just minutes away from the majesty of the new Savage Gulf State Park. This newest Tennessee State Park has over 30 miles of hiking for all skill levels, glorious waterfalls, and magnificent overlooks where you can see for miles.

Located just a few miles down the road from the Coalmont OHV Park and less than 30 minutes to the Caverns Music Venue
During your stay at this holiday home, you'll be close to Greeter Falls. The holiday home offers a kitchen and a Smart TV.

Beautiful setting!
It was a beautiful setting to be in. The lake was amazing & hearing all the frogs at night was fun. The cottage itself was so cute & well designed it to maximize the space. The kitchen was the perfect size & the view out the back porch was refreshing. I really appreciated that this place was pet friendly so I was able to bring my two dogs. However, during the email notification process before checkin, saw there would be a $100 fine if dog hair was found in the sheets. I brought dog beds for my dogs to sleep in on the floor anyway, but I don’t know about any other pet owners, I get dog hair on me & it goes in my sheets too because it’s on my clothes :). So that was a little stressful. My only real issue was the king bed frame was noisy (loud any time you moved) & I found the bed itself uncomfortable which was sad. I think a new bed would make this place the perfect getaway. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars in cleanliness was the bugs in the house, and having to wash some dishes that I pulled out of the cabinet that just didn’t look clean. Also a clump of hair in the sheets when I got in bed the first night. The sheets were clean, it was just clearly from the dryer. It was ironic considering the dog hair fee listed :). Remember you’re in the woods, so lots of bugs outside. Had to kill a few spiders inside, but again, you’re deep in the woods, so you expect some of that wildlife. Overall a really cute cottage & a beautiful environment to take in & get away!

Get away
Beersheba Lake Retreat was a great place to relax! The sounds of frogs is great at night. Our coffee pot didn’t work & they came out & replaced it quickly. The house could use more items to make it more like a home while you’re away. There was a charcoal grill, but no charcoal. Pots & pans, but no colander, no Tupperware to keep left overs in and no foil or plastic bags. The nearest store isn’t far, but we didn’t want to buy everything & take it with us. The whole reason we chose a Vrbo is so we can eat home cooked meals. We made do, but would suggest you bring your own items or the owner purchase such things to keep at the house.

Awesome cabin!
The cabin appears to be relatively new and in great condition. Everything was clean and perfect for a couple or a small family. We used the cabin as a base to explore the surrounding areas. If your a hiker, make sure to visit the Stone Door trail; beautiful rock outcroppings overlooking the surrounding mountains! And its only a few minutes from the cabin. Greeter falls was also a beautiful hike even though the falls were dry. The cabin was very comfortable and the owners even provided firewood for the fire pit and left a kayak for the lake. I will note that the cabin isn't as remote and private as it seems in the pics. It is located about 100 yards behind someones house, with another house and cabin also within sight. Although I was disappointed that it wasn't as private as I had hoped, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Perfect Escape
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The proximity to the water, the privacy, the beauty and simplicity of the cabin, and the atmosphere was everything we were hoping for and more. The house was stocked with basic necessities, plenty of towels, and cookware. Everything was clean and fresh and the check-in/check-out process was as easy as possible. It looks like they were building another cabin retreat next door, and we hope to stay in that one next year, as we plan to make this trip our annual get-a-way. Thank you for the wonderful trip!

The beds were very squeaky. Every time me or my husband rolled over the bed squeaked and woke us up. So not much sleep either night. Could use a mirror in master br for getting ready. Overall great experience! Beautiful views. Super clean property.

Quiet Getaway Close to South Cumberland
Our stay at Beersheba Lake Retreat was everything we were looking for. A private place with space to walk our dogs close to some really neat trails. The property was clean and well maintained. My only gripe is that not all of the rules pertaining to pets are explained in the initial property description. The listing states that 2 medium pets are allowed, but it wasn't until after we placed our booking and received an email from the owner that we discovered the rules are much more strict-- no pets are allowed on the furniture at all, and "your deposit is forfeited" if dog hair is found on the bed linens. We brought our kennels and made it work, but this would have been nice to know upfront, as we had to adjust quite a bit of our trip so we weren't leaving our dogs in their kennels all weekend. Overall though, the Beersheba Lake Retreat was a great location for a weekend getaway. You have a scenic view of a private lake, comfortable and modern accommodations, and are minutes away from some fun hiking trails.

Beautiful property and peaceful place to retreat
This rental property was comfy, private and peaceful. The property manager was easy to contact and always responded promptly. Our only complaint would be on the quality of cleaning; microwave and kitchen sink was dirty and the ceiling fans were covered in dust. Other than that we were more than pleased with the property and our stay. We would definitely rent this property again if we were in the area
