Room was on its last legs really. Mirror cracked. Carpet in poor state. Paint on carpet by door. Entry door in a very bad state. Holes in it. Architrave had no paint on it. Locked OK. Room was secure. Bed was ok. Double bed against wall. Good matress. Linen excellent - very clean. Bathroom ok, but took ages to get hot water. Breakfast excellent, but no back pudding available.

Dear Brian, Helen and Lucy, We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Mercure Bankfield Hotel. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. I will share your comments with our team as I know they all take great pride in making every guest feel welcome. I will certainly take your comments regarding room decoration on board and we are currently working towards employing a decorator, and replacing some of the bedroom chairs. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the this one. Kind regards, James Thornhill Front of House Manager

We stayed in the “west wing”, this was quite neglected and in need of some refurbishment. Our friends room has a smell similar to dry rot and was quite poor. Our room was better but too warm. Pillows were too firm. We were served a pre ordered meal for the event we attended. Steak pie was Shepherds Pie, Thai curry was lacking in content. The salmon pasta and accompanying salads were excellent. The staff were friendly and the rooms inexpensive, so should not grumble too much.

Looks great on the surface.

I may be being harsh as I was tired when I checked in, I had just finished a day of mountaineering and was in a bad way injury wise. All I wanted was a bath. Git to my room and the bath was filthy. Ended up having a shower which was nice but not what I wanted. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating and can not be faulted. There was no tea at breakfast other than fruity nonsense and green stuff. I just wanted a normal breakfast tea. To top it off, on my check out, there was some mix up and my card ended up being charged twice. It's a nice hotel but there are simple things which could be done to improve it.

Grand experience, at budget price.

Pros: Convenient position, good price.
Cons: Up date bathroom
Location: Saltaire villiage is a gem. Northcliffe woods are good for a walk. Bingley five rise locks, on the Leeds Liverpool canal, are worth a visit.
It has all the facilities of a 5 star Hotel, but was cheaper than Premier Inn.

Not value for money

Pros: Entrance
Cons: Quite a bit
Room was small, a bit dated, not sufficient toiletries, no hotel information in the room, drinks in the bar quite expensive, a bit noisy.
