Unfortunately the Hyatt brand is not what it used to be. The hotel staff were very friendly when checking in. Area is convenient and in safe location. Our room had a funny smell, the lamp light did not work. The light above the sink did not work. Mildew was on the walls of the bathroom. When I stayed in the Hyatt many years ago, it was a very luxury hotel. Seems like the cleaning and overall maintenance of the hotel has went down over the years. For the price , it's not the end of the world, but I would have much rather stayed in a better hotel for more money.

Would not stay here again. Breakfast options were very slim. Eggs you could tell were powdered. Sausage looked as if it had been reheated. Staff was less than pleasant. Elevator broke while there. Should've stayed somewhere else.

We reserved a king room on a high floor with a view but instead record 2 doubles on the 2nd floor with no views. Behind thet, the room was comfortable. Decent breakfast.

Outside nice. Inside of lobby nice. Negatives…women’s bathroom off lobby dirty and urine all over toilet ; elevator floors really dirty and carpet tiles coming up all over; stains on couch cushion and pillow(simply flipped over instead of replacing)in room. Just seemed like lack of effort to maintain property.

Expected better from this hotel brand
The check in took a while due to lack of personnel. There was a loud mechanical/machinery sound coming from the hallway of lobby. Our room had no shampoo or bath soap. When we requested additional towels, the front desk advised us they were completely out of clean ones and to ask again in the morning. Pillows were flat. Both sheets and comforter didn’t fit mattress correctly, kept coming off. Breakfast was bland and not much variety. Hotel staff were courteous and friendly. Rooms are outdated. A good remodel is needed. We will not choose this hotel when we go back to Birmingham.
