This house is “one of those” that is even better in person than it appears in the photos. The bedrooms are expansive with great private baths and the view to the jungle makes the house open up even more. The beach on which the house is located is a “public beach” as other reviewers mentioned. That didn’t negatively affect us, and we actually enjoyed speaking with quite a few locals. The only issue is when they used the deck or would come up onto the deck, but it should be noted they think the house is a bar or restaurant-asking for agua or cerveza or basura or banos. Yes, there are “private property” signs, but most were innocent mistakes and we would point them down the beach. The snorkeling is pretty average in front of the house, a bit harrowing with boat traffic, but we brought an orange buoy along which helped the taxi drivers locate us (we left at the house for others use). We also took a snorkel tour which is worth the time and money. The location on the beach is prime real estate and we gave out the rental information to many other tourists interested. Agree with other reviewers that the kitchen/dining could use additional pots, pans, cookie sheets, etc and better lighting but when traveling we’ve learned to improvise. We caught fish two days with a fishing captain set up thru Armodio and prepared some amazing dishes in that kitchen. I can’t say enough about Armodio and his family, he truly made our vacation memorable (and his children too!) Armodio’s wife even baked us homemade bread a few days! It should be said, we had absolutely no water issues, and we had 8 occupants showering along with dishes, flushing, etc. However, one negative comment outside the control of the owners, there is a bar on the island that starts to play thumping music anywhere from midnight through the early morning?? With the screens on the upper windows, it was hard to drown out that music. Yes, there are sand flies, but there aren’t many locations left in central America that are sand fly free-Bring your repellent! Highly recommend this beach house!
