I am contacting VRBO with a complete listing of the condition and damages in this cabin. I took pictures of the cobwebs, grit on the lampshades, holes in the screens, and light fixtures that I had to unplug because they did not work or flickered. The host kept referring to the cabin as "rustic."
Having rented cabins eight times over the last twelve years, I know what "rustic" means. It does not mean filthy and in disrepair.
The limited cookware in the kitchen was covered with grease and the spatula hanging on the wall over the sink was caked with pancake dough or eggs? Everywhere we looked, we kept finding screens loose from frames.
The host did offer to relocate us after two days but we, instead, wanted to enjoy the region offerings.
I wanted to treat my sister (81) to an area that I have talked about for years! This cabin, while "serene," was not acceptable. The description was misrepresented on the website..
When I booked in it, I should have wondered why it was still available for mid-July. I am requesting a refund for having to stay in a place that was advertised on VRBO but handled by a local company. I have trusted VRBO for other rentals. From now on, I will find another company.
I can send the photos to a representative. The description on on your website is misleading. I understand from the host that she has sent on my text messages to her (until she said not to send any more)
and her responses that insisted that "rustic" implies "dirty."
