It wasn’t clear when I made the reservation that this was not a traditional hotel or inn. So when we showed up and were sent to the building a few houses down and told to let us ourselves in, etc….it was a bit confusing but it turned out just fine. Our 1 bedroom plus kitchen and small couch and table made me think it would be nice for a stay of a few days or longer.

There is pre-booking in process. You fill out a form prior to checking in. It did not take long. The staff was friendly upon arrival. My room wasn’t ready at 3pm. I decided to leave my luggage at the front desk. They agreed to take it to my room once it was ready. I decided to go to the Prudential Center to eat which is only a two minute walk away. I’m glad that I didn’t have to take my own luggage UP two flights of stairs. There is no elevator. The room was small but clean. I had a new towel for every day of my stay. The a/c unit needed to be serviced. It blew out cool air and dust, affecting my allergies. The bathroom fixtures need replacing: toilet paper holder and shower. I did like the slower gel provided; I have sensitive skin. The walls are thin… I ordered a package from Amazon which arrived the next day. It was secured at the front desk. Keep in mind there is not a 24/7 front desk. Hours are 9am - 9pm. I liked that there was free WiFi and a smart TV in the room. I noticed that the WiFi signal dropped from the TV on day two. I spoke with staff to have the issues rectified. I was told to unplug the TV to reset it if this happens again. It worked. I had to do it twice during my five night stay. For security purposes, there is CCTV at the front of the house, inside house upon entering and in various parts of the staircases. The room met my purpose. A clean room for my stay while visiting Boston for medical reasons.

Location is great - close to a 7-ll and the Prudential Center for transportation, dining and shopping. Charming brownstone neighborhood. Small but very efficient room with nearly anything you want. Bathtub didn't hold water, and we didn't quite figure out the TV, but both quite minor issues. Staff very friendly and very helpful.

It was a pleasure to stay in these classic brickrow houses. They have been updated, and are clean with home comforts. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. My family and I rented two rooms on second floor of one of these row houses. This one had beautiful stain glass on front entryway, with parking behind the building. There was laundry available in the building. Each room had a kitchenette, comfortable bed, sofa bed, and unique balcony. The Copley House is within walking distance of Copley Square, Boston Public Library, Trinity Church, Old South Church, Boston Public Gardens and Boston Commons. Staying at the Copley House showed us an experience of living in 19th century Victorian Boston (with modern conveniences).

Upon checking in, they never told us we were on the 4 th floor. Anyone with health conditions should be informed there are many steep steps to take up. This would have been a factor when picking this place. Our room key was 745 which also gave no indication it was in the 4th floor. Disappointing information!!

Location, location, location! This place is in the heart of Back Bay! Everything you need is around the corner (restaurants, convenience stores, fast food, shopping mall, subway stop). The staff was friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable!
