Hospital visit

The automated check in was off putting but worked reasonable well and the lady assistant was very helpful but still not a fan. Parking was easy although the signs gave the impression that we had to pay but fortunately the check in assistant put us right. The room was of reasonable size but poorly lit though the bed was firm and very comfortable plus had firm pillows available which was good. The bar/restaurant was noisy but the food was good and a wide selection though the wait was excessive.

I will never step foot on that hotel again ,for 150 pounds my children literally slept on the floor dirty and dusty room ,loud music from the gym fro. 7.45 am .That was not a family room but a clear scam for money

The food in the hotel restaurant was poor and very poor value for money. The wine was extremely expensive. Other than the restaurant food, the hotel was good. I wouldn’t eat in the hotel again. Incidentally the breakfast was very good! The parking was expensive and we should have been informed during the booking process that parking was not free

Very nice hotel !

Loved the upper deck room which is much cosier than the other rooms - staff always friendly and helpful and conference faculties staff can’t do enough for you ! Only negatives are the difficulty in parking due to people attending exercise classes and also EV chargers still not in use !

We expected the Village Hotel to be better quality than other budget hotels like Premier Inn, as the gym is known for being more expensive than other chains. Overall that's not the case, so will stick with Premier Inn in future. Our twin-bedded room was a disabled room and looked a bit shabby overall, with a bathroom in need of modernisation. The breakfast buffet was fine but staff not the most attentive. One incident stuck out for a couple of reasons - on Boxing Day night, at bedtime, there was shouting and swearing in the corridor outside our room. We complained immediately to reception and got moved to a better double room on the top floor away from any noise. The reception staff and manager dealt with the situation amazingly well, as the police were called in to remove the offenders. We were offered free breakfasts and drinks at the bar, which was a sensible and fair way to handle it. It showed that the staff are wonderful, but sadly let down by the type of residents the Village Hotel can attract. Its sports bar and gym brings in a younger crowd, so these facilities are its main selling points. However if you want to guarantee a quiet stay, best look elsewhere!
