Beautiful Location But With Room For Improvement
We requested a room in the quiet area of the hotel and they put us on the first floor, on top of the parking door, hearing vehicles coming in and out on different times of the day and night and on the side of a tennis court. We didn't request to change, because we were afraid wouldn't have availability. The cleaning: if they don't clean "your room" until they pass by the follow up rooms in "your corridor” (there is between 10:00-11:30), you have to request it! Otherwise you get a high chance that won't be cleaned in that day. We only found out on the second day, when we came back in the afternoon. In the same day we requested water refilling for the minibar, but the bottle was already open, like it was refilled in the sink. The cleaning it’s not the best. They just make the bed and change the towels. Did no vacuum our room. The breakfast: The tables every time, we had to clean the tables our selves. They put new cutlery and tablecloths, but when we got closer to the table and the chairs, we found bread crumbs, scramble eggs, fruits, etc. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. We had to use our phones as hotspot, but with difficulties, because poor coverage on the location. We didn’t sleep very well, because the air-conditioning make a kind of noice on every automatic restart, like someone was opening the door. The reception stuff are very friendly and attended our requests also friendly. Despite it all, the location was wonderful for those who like nature and peace!

Don't go there...
Hotel has a great potential, however the current conditions are so bad. Staff is extremely unfriendly and talks as if you were bothering them. There was no internet in the room even though it was advertised, when you speak to the staff about it, they say the hotel does not guaranty wi-fi in the rooms, but only the common areas, which is also not true, as we could not connect in common areas too. As for hotel condition and cleanliness, HORRIBLE!! Despite the very nice location, the hotels is so old, the rooms are worn out and poorly maintained. Washroom, rugs, walls, curtains and even light switches were dirty and in some case sticky. Room is so big, with one heater on the ceiling, that was not enough to heat it, so it was a bit uncomfortable to sleep in a relatively chilly room. The only good things are location of the hotel and food.

Beautiful location up in the hills, but conversely very isolated with no facilities or villages available by foot. Hotel itself has seen glorious days, but is now very tired and in need of decoration and upkeep. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Wi Fi reception was awful, often not working at all, despite the hotel advertising it. Very frustrating.. . Good parking facilities -- one of the better aspects. Overall quite disappointed with the whole package..

A wonderful retreat to relax..
Excellent and poite staff who were very helpful indeed. Beautiful location in the hills with pleasant surroudings,and very relaxing and peaceful. It is an unusual setting as it is an old medieval convent/monastry converted into a hotel,but that adds to it's exclusiveness and attraction. The hotel room balconies are very large with pleasant views. Also an excellent restaurant next door that specialises in traditional Portugese dishes. Overall a splendid stay and good value....

Hotel wasn't hard to find. The beds weren't extremely comfortable but the breakfast was great (and included). There was a sauna and Turkish bath as well as an indoor and outdoor pool. Mall wasn't too far and you could get fresh mountain water just outside the hotel. Overall it was a good hotel.
