The staff are brilliant only not allowed to drink in the rooms but they will hold it for you in there fridge so all good...
Ive stayed here twice when no hotels available for work and ive had a cracking sleep
Goid work guys and ill be coming in october when next working in bristol
All the best 👍
The staff are amazing and very kind towards its customers. The bed space was very clean and tidy. Excellent service from the staff and they accepted NHS carers like myself.
I have stayed in this hostel multiple times and customer service has been excellent every time. I always make special requests and the hostel has never refused. Location is ideal as situated directly in the centre of Bristol.
I had the displeasure of booking Harbourside Hostel for an overnight stay on 19-20 June. I arrived late and was not allowed to check in, which is abnormal for many, if not all of the hostels I have stayed in before. All other hotels were fully booked so I was left to wander the streets at 4am by myself. I called the main hub and they solidified their decision not to let me in. The staff were indifferent even when I advised them of my situation. I am telling everyone I know not to use Harbourside Hostel Bristol.
Suitable if you are on a tight budget but the greed and lack of genuine customer care pervades the air of this "hostel". Overall the establishment feels like a prison. It is the cheapest place in town, and it comes across as a money grab, which is why the owners run it like they are doing their guests a favour. My personal experience was negative but for most people without much expectation it will be adequate. When I compare it to all the other hostels I've stayed in not just in Bristol, but also in Bath, Cardiff, Swansea and in fact right across the UK I cannot rate this place very high.
All over the world every accomodation business is obviously motivated to make money but the owners of this establishment take greed to another level. One example: they charge £2 to rent an iron. The place is suitable if you are on a tight budget but it's not a hostel it's just a cheap place to stay. The beds are single and arranged barracks style giving it a "packed like sardines" feel. The receptionists are not great at customer service and at check in you are bombarded with very strict rules plus you must pay a £20 deposit (in cash others extra charges apply). Since there are no cooking facilities or a common area their restaurant next door reluctantly allows guests to use that space. Don't just take my word for it compare all the above points with other places such as the YMCA, St Christopher, Rock & Bowl, Cwtsh hostels from Bath to Swansea or elsewhere and you'll appreciate what I mean. The owners don't care though as they know there will always be people who'll need a place to stay in Bristol at the low end therefore will continue to exploit the situation.
Clean and tidy room and toilet. Great service by staff. Great location. But no common area being hostel still under construction. Not a great hostel to stay more than a day.
Cost effective, affordable and good customer service

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
If you need a warm bed for the night at a very reasonable price then this fits the description. A warren of rooms of varying sizes, you can book a 1 bed room or one with 6. The facilities are basic, with nowhere to relax/work except the rooms themselves.
If you're desperately looking for a place to sleep in Bristol, that's fine, otherwise avoid.
The room and facilities should be clean more often. Out of 5 showers I tried to use, 2 were broken! There are no bunk beds, which means 0 privacy in the rooms. Small storage space in each room, but you can't lock. No kitchen or place to socialize, and food and drinks are forbidden in the hostel (which means you need to eat out all the time + can't meet people).
