Property manager declined to answer questions about kitchen supplies, sleeping cabin distance, and water, which was frustrating since we needed safe drinking water as there were children, someone who was pregnant, and a senior in our group. We were particularly disappointed to find out that safe drinking water would not be provided, though pictures of the cabin show the water/dispenser. Unfortunately for us, we arrived during a heat wave, so even with fans we were hot and particularly uncomfortable trying to sleep on 100% polyester sheets. We used fold out sofa in living room instead of the sleeping cabin (just 10 steps from the house via deck walkway, with trundle downstairs and 2 air mattresses in loft), because the door doesn't lock. Also, most of the doors interior/exterior the cabin don't have knobs or latches. When we arrived the lower exterior door was wide open, and it didn't stay closed well, even with a lock. We also learned upon arrival that the bottom of the lake is covered with small mussels that crush and cut your feet when you walk on them. Would have liked to know this in advance, and would have brought our own water shoes. Bins of old water shoes were available for use. Positives - kitchen was really well stocked with all supplies you'd need for cooking including a food processor, drip coffee machine/grinder, and hand mixer. The lake is beautiful! We had a great time on the water and exploring the area. Watkins Glen hike is fantastic.
