We stayed 6 nights in Calvanico at Villa Mimosa. This is a great spot for reaching Salerno, Amalfi Coast, Napoli, etc. It's out of the tourist areas up the side of the mountain about 1500 ft. It's a small town, so there are just a couple of places to get grocery items, coffee and breakfast, and a few restaurants, but that's the way we wanted it. Donato and Roberto(Donato's son) were fantastic to work with. Roberto contacted me via the VRBO app a few days before our arrival, send me good directions and he helped locate a bike shop in Salerno, where my son could rent a bike. Very helpful! He also had some very good information on taking a boat trip from Salerno up the Amalfi Coast, which has breathtaking views. The weather was near perfect with the a nice dry climate, plenty of sunshine and cool mornings and evenings. We also found a great hiking area just about 15 minutes further up the mountain where we hiked to Pizzo San Michele, about 5,000 ft above sea level with amazing views of the Amalfi Coast, Napoli, the Tyrrehnean Sea, etc. We stayed 1 month in Italy on our trip in Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Bergamo and Salerno area and this was my favorite place.
