Mattress too soft for my taste
If you like a soft bed, upgrade this review to 5 stars. If you don’t have a great back and like a firm bed, downgrade this review to 1 star. My friends who stayed in an adjacent room liked the mattress but I thought it was the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. It is extreeeemely soft. My back is hurting after 2 nights at the hotel. After the first night I asked if a firmer mattress was available. I asked and was told guests generally love the beds and I do believe it. But that’s great for the majority of guests with good backs that can take the softness. For me, it was awful

Great location. Room was lovely, staff were extremely helpful. The only minus was the extra soft mattress, but that may be personal preference. Overall, great.

Pros: Staff at check-in were efficient and friendly, and parking was easy to access. The room was clean, and not large however we had anticipating this so it was fine. Cons: The sheet was barely on the mattress when we arrived, and I had to fix it; small issue but a poor first impression. There was nowhere to hang damp/wet towels to air them, which wasn't an issue for us as we were only there for one night, but for a hotel emphasising environmentally-friendly practices I would have wanted fresh towels each day due to this. Finally, construction work at a nearby site woke us up early the next morning; I understand this can't be helped by the hotel but I would have expected a heads-up either before booking, or at least upon check-in.
