our stay was nice. the resort is very nice and intimate, love the swim out pool, food was good, staff were attentive and friendly. did not like i had to shower with cold water everyday.. they even changed my room and the water was still cold. did not like how it is not all inclusive you have to pay for food and drinks.. the beds were not comfortable. other than that i would rate it a 6/10.

Left early due to all the inconveniences this resort had to offer. The beach was infested with jelly fish, the lobby smelled of sulfur, the room was hot and the wooden structures around the resort are a lawsuit waiting to happen. The pools were dirty and to top it all off, they were dishonest and said we couldn’t get our refund for the days we didn’t stay due to the payment being made through Expedia. That is totally false according to Expedia since Akuazul resorts are the ones to approve the refund. When I asked the people at the front desk if we could get the money back, they said it shouldn’t be a problem and would let us know 72 hours after checkout. Well it’s been 10 days since checkout and they just told me they can’t…. Sounds like they just want the money to me. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are nice, with a great balcony. Good restaurant, and the included breakfast is perfect for a small daily breakfast. It’s fruit, with granola and peanuts, and toast or a pancake. Plus coffee and juice, really all I needed. The service is really good, as it’s a smaller hotel. I would come back, especially for the price

Super friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean, hotel was very nice (especially at night) , about a 10min drive (~8-10$ uber ride), food at the restaurant was very good and not expensive , they have a great habanero salsa. Continental breakfast was delicious (fruit & coconut granola and fruit sauce platter) Only minor downsides is the AC could be a bit stronger but a tip is to ask for an extra key so you can have the AC running whenever you leave and the room stays cool. Another small thing is the roadnoise, but honestly it never bugged me or kept me from sleeping. But these arent major and for the price, this hotel is not bad at all. Buses were able to pick us up at this hotel for our tours and uber eats able to deliver- I would stay here again if i was looking for a room off the main strip.

Property is in grave disrepair. Beach area is unsafe and dirty. Pool along swim out rooms was lined with algae. Staff was limited and only one bar/restaurant was open. Housekeeping (or someone) left my room door ajar while I was out. Not at all as advertised.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this was a pretty bad hotel experience. The bar staff were great and the food was really good, but outside of that I wouldn’t recommend this place. We both got stung by jellyfish within a minute of getting in the water at the private beach (there were no signs or anything) and the vast majority of the property smelled terrible for most of our stay, including the lobby. (Presumably because it’s on a swamp?) The hotel is right by a main road so you hear the loud sound of cars all day and often in the night, too. It’s also not walking distance to anything and most of the resort is abandoned/run down/closed. It felt like an abandoned amusement park or something! On our second day water started gushing from the ceiling of our bathroom, drenching our toothbrushes and other belongings. They moved us to a different room and during the changeover the manager didn’t apologize and was very concerned with making sure she knew what mini bar snacks to charge us for. We struggled to get enough drinkable water—we’d buy bottles from the bar but it was challenging to get enough. We went to the lobby in the middle of the night twice because we really needed water and they were only able to find one tiny bottle for the two of us. Very bizarre. The second pool was tiny and unusable due to being so dirty and smelling so bad, and the walk-in pool often smelled terrible, too. (I’m all for being in nature but this was a uniquely horrible smell haha.)

Beautiful views of the jungle and ocean from your room! Ambience, decor, & walk to a secluded beach are incredible. The staff was top notch, we received the best hospitality and service throughout our entire stay, I cannot praise them enough. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Both pools were fantastic. We unfortunately were at the resort about a week after Hurricane Helene. The chair cushions had been removed because of the storm which we completely understood, however they were not replaced during our stay which made the chairs a bit uncomfy. The resort is off the main strip, which is what we prefer when we travel. Pro is a secluded stay without a ton of tourism around you, con is we didn’t have any markets within walking distance and the hotel is built over the jungle so it can get a bit jungle smelly in certain areas. We specifically could smell this when walking over the bridge to the beach, but hey that’s nature right?! As long as you plan appropriately and stop by a store to stock up on water and any other items you may need the proximity to a store shouldn’t be a problem! The resort itself doesn’t have a taxi service but they did help us with reaching someone to take us back to the airport, this was a super easy process just be sure to have cash available. The hotel is only about a 5-10 min drive to the strip if you did want to take a taxi in for that. Overall this was a wonderful stay, we’d stay again! Def recommend for a honeymoon type of trip, this was ours!

The most unique unusual property, I was left speechless. I would highly recommend the experience of this property for a few days, my stay was only one night to be close to the Cancun airport. One day and night was too short a stay. Be prepared to take a lot of pictures too.
