The hotel and property look good from a distance but the rooms have broken tiles and poor pain job on doors. Overall the rooms have a cheap modern look. The grounds are awesome. Shows are good. Pools are nice but water in the pools is too cold. Food is good for Cancun. Good options and variety. The proximity to another RIU hotel is nice since you have the option to eat at both for breakfast and lunch. Not sure why the gourmet coffee shop doesn’t open until 9am. Ocean water is not that clear in January. The ocean views from the rooms are incredible looking over the gardens and pools.

We had a young female in our party that was injured in the pool due to a missing drain lid. After getting some one to take care of her and bandage it they wanted money for it. Then we had nobody from the hotel contact us to follow up on the incident

This hotel is amazing! The service is excellent, and the staff are all very polite. I had a wonderful stay here. The buffet is delicious, offering a wide variety of fruits and seafood, and there are plenty of restaurant options as well. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal, where you can take a boat to Isla Mujeres, which is super convenient. I’ll definitely come back next time!

RIU Palace Peninsula is located in great location. The beach and pool areas were wonderful with adults and kids areas. As requested, Moises, check in desk, was able to accommodate our room to be more pleasant with a lovely view. Special thanks to the staffs ( Elvis with his sweet songs) from the buffet whom made our dinners so amazing every night. Thanks to all the bartenders( Luis, sport bar, Bernando, theatre bar, and Jovanny who made the good drinks coming and kept us with a smile on our faces. RIU parties were the best party music we have heard in long times. The pool with bubbles made us be like kids again. Tequila shots were on point and unstoppable delicious. Of course, New Year Eve was fabulous with a lobster festival and all kind of seafoods. RIU, Thank You for letting us made unforgettable memories. Love always, Maria & Fabio

I like the cocktail drinks were good and the ala cart restaurants were also good. I didn't like the buffet restaurant because the food was always cold all the time.
