This resort was clean and very relaxing. The hotel felt safe. The beach was amazing and great to swim in. The hotel staff were nice and accommodating. The spa was excellent. It is a family resort with lots of kids. The resort offers free yoga every morning. The hotel was very quiet without any night life or entertainment. There are only 4 dining options (Steak, Mexican, Italian, American). The food choices were good but nothing amazing. If you don't have reservations you will eat at 9pm. We decided to go off resort for authentic good Mexican food. I was debating between Villa Del Palmar and the Garza, next time I would choose Garza as it did look more luxury and had better dining options.

The food for this facility did not disappoint! We've been to several resorts and this has had the best food overall. Our favorite restaurant was the steakhouse, La Casona. Saul provided us with excellent service and helped us feel welcomed. The activities were lacking, even though it was raining on and off, certain events at the pool were still going on, like pool volleyball and zumba, but most of the activities were cancelled without notice. There were plenty of people still out and about in the pools but music would play for 2 or 3 songs and turn back off. We were pretty bored even for a 3 day stay. They do have an onsite booking office for excursions and shows, which was convenient. There is also a starbucks(not included in AI) and market next door for souvenirs and such. The gym was clean and had plenty of equipment to use. The beach access was pretty small, but it was kept very clean. One issue we has was on our first day, we had lunch at Zama, and since they also do a la carte for non all inclusive guests, you have to sign a check with the option to give additional tip. We always leave cash on the table, but as we were leaving, the hostess asked our waiter in spanish, "How much do you think the asians left you?" and when he looked at the check, I heard him say "Nothing!". That was pretty rude, although I understand that kind of talk happens, it just sucked that they said it in front of us. It'd be unlikely that we'd come back, but it wasn't too bad of an experience.

This was our first time booking through Expedia, everything turned out great! The resort had staff at the "gated" front entrance 24/7. They had security in the lobby in the evening. There are 4 restaurants, a snack bar, and a breakfast buffet, all places had good options. The staff was very attentive and helpful. This is a family friendly resort with family friendly activities such as kayaking and pool/beach volleyball. The hotel staff upgraded us to a one bedroom suite, which was beautiful with an amazing ocean view. At the beginning we did get approached to discuss a sort of "time share" they are affiliated with the resort next door, however, we politely declined. Our first night we did experience water loss in our shower..but informed the front desk of the issue and did not experience this the rest of our stay. We cannot wait to return to Villa Del Palmar!

The property is full of lush greenery. Beautiful But the elevators were out of service in a few areas and the AC in the rooms weren’t working and the ceiling fans only operate on low. The restrooms in the bedrooms don’t have an air vent so your sweaty as soon as you step out the shower.
