Amazing place and so good, we stayed twice on the same holiday. Would recommend it to everyone and will definitely stay again when next in the Western Cape.
This was my first night after a long haul flight and a welcome contrast to the airport. This I should a wine estate first and a hotel second but the standard of accommodation was excellent. The personal approach of the staff give the hotel the standard of service not possible in larger chains. I loved having the wine tasting next door as well. It’s a little too far to walk into Stellenbosch - which I should probably a goood thing. I had no problem cycling but taxis are easily available and for the more adventurous, there is a riding stable close by. A
We had a nice stay here but unfortunately there was no real restaurant facility offering only two very basic dishes in the evening. Could not find any other restaurants close by. The cooked breakfast was very good but unfortunately we experienced the breakfast waiting staff leaving tables dirty for long periods and buffet food uncovered with flies on, though the next day it was covered. No customer service appreciation at breakfast time even though there were plenty of staff on duty. Needed a manager/supervisor to oversee.

Excellent wine and location
A simple and nice winery hotel with EXCELLENT wines - all of them! We were pleased that a free tasting was included with our reservation and even more pleased with the quality of the wines. You can walk around the hotel, in the vineyards and enjoy the nice pool. Highly recommended!

L'Avenir stay
Lovely venue and friendly staff, but room not what we requested. We asked for a double bed and got twin beds. Aircon was leaking and did not get repaired in the two days that we were there
This is an interesting place. Only a small number of rooms right in the heart of a vineyard. It's for the most part sexily designed and the rooms were bright and clean. The infinity pool has stunning views.
It's a bit of a flog into Stellenbosch itself but perfectly doable by cab.
The only downer is that reception seemed a little surly. Nothing was their fault. "Can I double check the wifi password as it doesn't seem to work?" You must have typed it in wrong. In fact the wifi was just rubbish.
At breakfast everything appeared a bit randomly or not at all. One of our party waited a while for a coffee and popped his head into the kitchen to find the staff all drinking coffee!
In conclusion the place itself is potentially fantastic but the staff need a quick perk up in terms of making the guest feel more "important"!
The experience more about the space than the staff
A lovely, if slightly cold, pool area which is probably the highlight. Some of the staff were a little dry / surly but generally we were well looked after. The setting is lovely. A smidge out if Stellenbosch but a relaxed setting
L’Avenir was one of the best places we have ever stayed at. The staff was more than friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every moment and would definitely recommend it to everyone! We had a premium room right in front of the infinity pool. The complementary wine tasting was unexpected and gives a great overview of the tasteful and delicious wines.
