Fire alarm is broken
The fire alarm went off at 3 am on Thursday night Friday morning and it was unbearable and went on for at least ten minutes on and off, this is not the first time this has happened and the inability to address this permanently is very frustrating .

Room was very warm, couldn’t adjust thermostat in the room, so had to go to reception to turn it down, which they did by 2 degrees but it was still too warm. Then the fire alarm was going off intermittently for around half hour at 3am, no apology from staff for the disruption during check out

Lovely hotel, but just too warm!
Hotel was nice, only issue being the room temperature, it was so hot and you although we changed the temperature setting to the lowest, it didn’t make much difference. You couldn’t open any of the windows, so it also felt stuffy.

I have no negative comment about the Mercure. The hotel is in a great condition, the restaurant for breakfast and dinner had very tasty food and the gym, though small is well equipped.

A hotel worth it from every aspect
Absolutely fantastic stay we were in Cardiff for a night. Room and hotel is new so everything was of very high standards, cleans and very modern. The standout were definitely the staff at reception who went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. Thank you for a great experience and stay.
