Great stay at this hotel. Beautiful historical house complete with courtyard, small church and cemetery (pity the church wasn't open, as would like to have looked inside). Stayed in the village opposite the hotel. Was like staying in your own home, very large room. However, cleaning was needed. Not properly hoovered, few cobwebs and they didnt service the room over the 2 days. Bathroom was dated and the bath incredibly high to get in and out of. Dined on both nights, Valentin was brilliant behind the bar and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food and the carvery was delicious! Nice selection of bar drinks, lots of golfers, so if the bar was a bit rowdy, there were lots of other sitting areas throughout the lobby and lounges. Overall, really nice and would go back.

Great breakfast!! Room had a soaking wet carpet which we had to use towels to ‘mop up’, this was reported to reception when we arrived and we were told someone from maintenance would be out the next day. No one ever arrived. Nice big bed, although dated. Windows were absolutely filthy, complete with cobwebs on the inside. Housekeeping was in attendance every 3rd day, you could request clean towels if necessary. There was not enough tea, coffee or milk for 3 days. We requested extra milk & were assured some would be delivered later that day. It never arrived. First night the restaurant was fully booked (192), so we could only eat in the bar, from a very limited menu. Limited more so because they ran out of fish for the fish and chips. Next night we did go to the main restaurant which was a lovely room with great staff. They ran out of fish n chips again and there were limited amount of steaks available, so we couldn’t have what we wanted. I would not choose to stay here again which is a great shame, it’s a beautiful building.

Nice hotel but not happy with service
Beautiful hotel. Nice food. Was let down for me by service in the morning. I awoke to no electricity in my room. As the phone was not working I had to dress and go to reception. The receptionist told me someone would attend in 25 minutes which I don’t think was a great response time. However after waiting for 1 hour with no one attending I had no choice but to check out having not had a shower or a coffee in my room.

Not deluxe , and poor restaurant
Room was average considering no it was a deluxe double room, nothing deluxe about it . Ate in the cast iron grill, after being told the Tudor bar was more for me, I was dressed in work clothes, but could well afford the restaurant, rude. Meal was horrendous, £10 for a piece of ham hock on its own, and a rump picana steak with was £26, worst than a harvester ! Need a chef and more friendly staff

Very nice scenic and rural location with a golf course. An old building so the rooms are a little tired but reasonably clean. Staff are friendly and plenty of different rooms to choose from. The lodge rooms are nice with a lake view and comfortable big beds.

Having worked at St.Pierre years ago, it to me had always been synonymous with quality. However we we given a room initially without a balcony although we had paid for it, being advised this was actually an upgrade. Why was this? Just say at 4pm your room was not ready, this would not have been a problem. We also found the insulation between us and the room above to be virtually none existent, as we could hear everything the chap above said and did. The quality although was really demonstrated by the wonderful lady running breakfast, she was the highlight of our stay. It was just disappointing, the hotel did not live up to the one of old.

Pleasantly surprised...
Short stay on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very comfortable, good breakfast, great gym and pool facilities (can be busy, it is a club) all included in the room rate. The golf course looked lovely although, unfortunately, no time to play. Made use of the driving range (mats and open air grass bays, £12 for 50 balls) and the putting green which are decent. Enjoyed the stay overall and will return.
