This property has gotten mediocre reviews. Everything we encountered indicates either: (a) that the property is now doing much better in room quality and other services than it had in the past; or (b) that we and the several other people we spoke with about the quality of their rooms were very fortunate to come at the time we did. Given how pleased everyone we spoke with (because I wanted to find out if we just happened to get a great room and others were finding the flaws that earlier reviewers spoke of) was with their experience at the hotel, I am inclined to think Castle Oaks management has upped their game considerably.

The ideal spot to recover from jet lag- quiet, pastoral friendly, pleasant and helpful staff, great food, a gym and pool, beautiful surroundings- need I say more? I recommend this place highly!!

We stayed on the second (third) floor. It was inaccessable by the elevator, which only went to the first (second) floor. We had to walk quite a distance from the elevator to the stairs. The carpet could be replaced. The room itself was excellent, and as described. The grounds were amazing. The first (ground) floor was beautiful and we enjoyed the pub and the restaurant.

The gardens were pretty. There was no lift access to the second floor ! They did not provide us with fans tho it was pretty warm in the room.Every amenity provided was substandard

Our room was beautiful! And the grounds were lovely. We went on a walk on an adjacent river walk, which was so beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was very nice as well. We drive to a restaurant (Finnegans) which was 8 minutes drive and we really loved that as well.
