Restaurant was good for dinner, but limited options for vegetarian at breakfast. Nice decor, gym good. Our main issue was the bedroom which was far too hot with no air con. Whilst some staff were very helpful some of the young staff were disengaged.

Book an executive double really disappointed to find it was in the original part of the building, to say the room was tired was being knocked nd, bathroom was in a poor state and it was very noisy from the road.

We stayed for 1 night, was woken at 2am with someone banging on our door, then 5am with the fire alarm. I also had to wait over 2 hours for a clean bath robe as mine was covered in make up. Was greeted with a birthday suprise at dinner, a plate with happy birthday written with coulis but not actually anything on it to eat which was quite strange. A piece of brownie wouldnt break the bank. The sofa was also broken in our suite room 204

A shadow of its former self
Upon checking in we were asked if we would like to make a dinner reservation only to be advised that 6 pm was the only available time. We happily booked the slot and went up to our room only to be greeted by someone else’s property (bags, clothes on rails, personal affects). After complaining to reception, the property was removed, but it was a cause for concern as during our wedding a number of our polaroid cameras went missing the morning of the wedding which couldn’t be explained by the staff. I now suspect that something similar happened to us a year ago and a housekeeping mistake led to those cameras being stolen… Because of the delays caused by the above, we had to cancel the 6 pm reservation as we wouldn’t have enough time to get ready. Instead, we ate at a local pub, leaving Wildes at 7:15 only to see the restaurant practically empty and under the assumption that we were lied to about table availability. As for the hotel room there was no conditioner available in the entire hotel, 2 of 4 sink taps were broken, there were numerous burn marks on the carpet, the window slats were hanging off their rail, the dress hanger had been pulled out of the ceiling and the bedside telephone had a message that couldn’t be removed by staff so flashed red all night

we were there for a friends wedding which was lovely. The setting etc is great. However our room was dirty, clearly hadnt been hoovered as biscuit crumbs all over the floor and the bathroom needs a clean the mirror, floor and shower had quite a bit of mildew / mould nothing a bit of bleach and a scrub wouldnt sort.

The hotel was so clean and well maintained. It smelt nice and was very lovely inside. It’s decorated to a high standard. We stayed in a spa room and it was spacious and very clean. The slight downside was the noise of the traffic outside and no air con in the room. However, a nice fan was provided. The coffee provided in the room was good quality. Breakfast was tasty. Toiletries in the bathroom were of good quality. Service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and offered to take our bags to the room. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

A belated birthday away
The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, with a modern feel. The dining options are more limited than stated, with only one casual to fine dining option (some people wore trainers while others were in high heels). The other restaurant was closed, and the third unavailable due to wind, which limited our choice and budget. Surrounding the hotel are mainly pubs for a casual experience. There are spa treatments but no spa in the sense of swimming pool, or sauna. And the room was lovely, everything you needed for a pleasant stay. The double bed was small, which we liked, but may not be to everyone's tastes.

Lovely hotel, nice clean rooms with comfy bed. Reception smells incredible. Good parking. All the staff were extremely professional and welcoming. Ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent with a good choice. Robot waiter a nice touch. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and happy to recommend
