Great Stay, Except Heat and Wi-Fi
Hyatt alway is all about quality. On-site amenities and service was great. The room was pretty straightforward, and clean. However, it’s cold in Chicago, so the bed-side window had a terrible draft! The heat was on a motion timer, and frequently, it was cold in the room. We purchased a small heater to keep warm during our week stay. The wi-if sucked! Always going out, making TV watching impossible, and delayed working on the unbearable. Overall, aside from these two issues, it’s Hyatt for us.

Friendly and courteous staff, busy area with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Short walk to the lakefront and to see a nice view of Chicago skyline. 5 min drive or 20 min walk to University of Chicago. Overall the room and breakfast area are clean and cozy. It’s a typical Hyatt Place setting. However, the carpet in the room could use some upgrade.

Best Hotel in Hyde Park
Hotel staff were very friendly and able to assist with many requests. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Would have preferred to have hot water and coffee in the lobby a little longer. They close it shortly after breakfast while many hotels have it out all day. At least there is an option to make coffee in the room. Hotel pool was small and cold but I appreciated the reservation system which assured our family could use the pool when we planned. Very easy access to UChicago and their free shuttle. Wish they didn’t take advantage of UChicago families and raise the prices so high for Family weekend, but understand market demand.
