The space
When you enter the Bakehouse, there is a little entrance hall for your coats with a downstairs loo and sink. Then into the spacious kitchen diner. With dual aspect it is always filled with light and can comfortably seat 8 guests at the table. We provide 6 chairs but feel free to ask for more if you have guests coming. The kitchen is well-equipped with good quality cookware and knives to make your stay feel as much like cooking in your own kitchen as possible. There is a utility cupboard with a washing machine and microwave. If there is anything else you need kitchen-wise, our own home is next door so feel free to let us know and we can probably find it!

Upstairs you enter the beautiful living space. There is a sofa bed as well as two stylish easy chairs and side tables. The perfect space for curling up with a book or having a relaxing drink with friends. Sound systems in both the kitchen and the living room are easily connectable via bluetooth. If you have some work tasks to be getting on with there is a desk and the Bakehouse has its own wifi connection. The widescreen smart tv is ready for you to log into your own streaming services. The large trunk is the perfect hiding place for any spare bedding if you are using the sofa bed.

Next this leads into the bedroom with a luxurious, extra-length superking bed and en-suite shower room. The beds can also be made into twins if you prefer. There is a large wardrobe and chest of drawers as well as bedside tables with a drawer. There is an extra-large full length mirror is on the wall and soft uplighting throughout the upstairs which sets a calming mood for the space.

There is the option to use the single pull out bed as well, and the sofa-bed (pictured) which is a small double with topper mattress for added comfort. We have travel cots available for young children too and stair gates can be added ahead of your stay on request. Please also let us know the ages of your children if you would like a basket made up for them with a few toys, games and books to enjoy during your stay.

The Bakehouse is set within our own garden and our house is next door. There is a secluded area of the garden, through the arch, with a table and chairs available for your exclusive use. It leads into our herb and vegetable patch. Please help yourself to herbs for your cooking! There is no parking for guests at the Bakehouse though you are welcome to use our drive on arrival and departure for un/loading. Street parking & paid local car parks available 3-5 mins walk away.

no parking
found this cottage when searching for accommodation with parking so was surprised to find we were expected to unload and move the car to a nearby pay and display carpark when we arrived. bizarrely there are two lists of amenities on the website the one I had seen before the trip said "Parking on sight" whist the second less noticeable one explains that there is no parking for guests. I suppose technically there is parking on sight but it seams dishonest to advertise that if it is not available to the customer.

Delightful Place
Fabulous location in the most charming village I have come across. Very spacious accommodation and super comfortable bed. Lovely touch by Tori with fresh flowers and scones and jam for our arrival. If we have the opportunity to return we will definitely book again.

Characterful Property
Torie, the host, was very friendly and helpful. The Property has a well equipped kitchen. There is plenty of space in the living area and bedroom. Parking in the public car park nearby was easy with the App. Coggeshall is a beautiful, quaint, characterful town whilst still being easily accessible to larger roads. There are walks from the front door.

A beautiful property in a charming location
Needed somewhere to stay that was commutable to Basildon for our specific needs , dog friendly and a place to de stress. Couldn't have found a more lovely place. As all the reviews have said it was simply immaculate, the bed linen smelt heavenly and was so comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to self cater and even has a little store cupboard of spices and condiments for your use. A lovely bag of scones and jams were left for us on the table on arrival, fresh flowers and heaters left on so that the home was lovely and toasty. We knew nothing about Coggeshall until we arrived and couldn’t believe what a stunning place it is. This property is really well located right in the hub of everything with easy access to pubs n shops and fabulous takeaways. Parking near the property wasn’t a problem as plenty of spots to find around the village and then the nearby car park as needed. Torie and her husband made us all feel so welcome and communication was brilliant so highly recommend this gem of a place.

Had a lovely stay, good size kitchen, living room and bedroom. Enjoyed sitting in the garden that was reserved for guests. Hosts were very pleasant and helpful. If you like history, nature, beautiful old villages, and the sea nearby, this is a great place to visit.
