Cheyenne Mountain Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Hotels offers 316 air-conditioned accommodations with a safe and complimentary bottles of water. Rooms open to balconies or patios. The surroundings were breathtaking beautiful, it was all that I hoped for. The front staff was very welcoming and helpful, the above saved this resort from a 1 star rating. The room had an odor at times that I believe came from the constant moisture on the door due to the cold weather meeting the warm interior. I was shocked to not find a microwave in the room, and the lack of events in the lobby. The worst experience was their restaurant Elevations, the seating was outdated and the staff provided service that you’d find at McDonalds. We ordered tortilla soup with a Caesar salad, Wendy’s salad is better. The elevations burger was dry and lacked flavor, Chick Fil A burger is better which we did visit. The chicken florentine seems to have been cooked by my 11 year old. As the chicken drum was stuffed with mushrooms a looked to be undercooked lacking that visual desire to bite into. I finished my burger but the other plates were not finished, my family had its worst dinner of our trip. I would not return to this resort and I believe that it’s in a decline.

The property itself is beautiful. However, our room had people above us that were so loud. We didn’t enjoy our trip. The front desk told us they would credit for the resort fee but we listened to stomping for 2 days.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! The inside is stunning. It feels extravagant and comfortable and like a mountain lodge all wrapped into one. When you walk into the lobby there is a giant fireplace and a tall ceiling with a ton of windows that allow a perfect view of the Cheyenne Mountain. There is a deck that faces the mountain right outside of the lobby that has a bunch of seating and fire pits. You can order food and dine out there or just relax and enjoy the view and company. We at at the restaurant and it was incredible! We had dinner and lunch there and were very impressed with the quality of food and service. We also ate breakfast at the buffet and it didn’t disappoint. The view was breathtaking and the buffet was very good. The food was fresh and they used quality ingredients. You can definitely tell. My husband and I travel together a lot and we are foodies. I have been to many hotel breakfasts and this one is the best resort buffet that I have been to. This was hands down a place that you don’t want to leave. The room was very nice. We had a balcony that faced the mountain. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice. I can’t wait to go back and stay at this resort. I just can’t say enough about it. We wanted to stay another night and would have if we didn’t have other obligations the next day.

I appreciated the fact they were able to get me in before the 4PM checkin. I was disappointed that the TV was not working and the lights on the wall by the bed were not working either. The bathtub spout also had a constant drip. These aren't major things but they were things I would not expect at an upscale resort like this.
