The check in was easy and flexible (I believe you should let them know if you’re planning on coming after 6pm). The restaurant with tasty breakfasts and a nice coffee shop are available (literally 2mins walking distance). The room was clean and cozy. For the price it’s an amazing option. And it’s very close to the Black Canyon if you’re planning on hiking. Absolutely sure I’d come back if I get a chance:)

Nice staff, clean room, comfortable bed, Shower had almost no pressure. Very small Bathroom. Window unit AC that made too much noise. Sleeping was difficult.

We loved the room!!! And the store is ADORABLE!!! The host were extremely nice and gave us a lot of tid-bits relating to the area and place to eat. We will definitely stay there again if we are that way again.

Everything was in good condition and clean. The hosts very kind. The only thing I can complain a bit about is the noise made by the fridge in he room. But I would come again

I like the convenience of being in Crawford. The rooms are old and could definitely use some updating. Don't mind that so much. The most important thing you could do is a new mattress

This is one of the only facilities in the area. The staff was very accommodating and even called us to inform us of inclement weather. There isn't a lot in Crawford -- one restaurant for dinner and a few breakfast spots. If you don't arrive until after 6, only the restaurant is open. Perfect location to explore the area around the north rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

The Hitching Post was perfectly situated for our day hiking and exploring the north rum of Black Canyon of the Gunnison and the price was affordable. Cherri, the owner was a doll and communicated all the check in details. The room was clean and had nice fluffy towels. We appreciated there was a fridge and microwave. My only critque is the mattress is badly in need of replacing. When I sat on the edge of the bed, my butt sank in like there was hole. The mattress sank in badly towards the middle and was vey squishy. Fortunately it didnt keep me from getting a good night's sleep. We enjoyed our stay and had a fun surprise while taking an after dinner walk through the cemetery across the street--happened upon Joe Cocker's grave!
