Peaceful
I loved relaxing in the room overlooking the stream and yard. All the essentials were provided, and a dessert was left for the humans, and treats were also provided for the dog. If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway with no noise or distractions, this place is perfect.

Great hosts!
The cottage is extremely well-equipped and the hosts were amazing! I would say that the mattresses are a bit on the firm side and the bed area by the porch stays pretty bright late - but those are matters of personal preference and I just mention them in case they’re deal-breakers for anyone. I would love to spend a few weeks in the fall just relaxing in that sunroom and having campfires in the amazing outdoor area! Amazing place.

Fabulous, clean and cozy cabin in an excellent location
We felt so blessed to have found Baker's Cottage for our recent visit to the area - we lived nearby in Mouth of Wilson years ago and were in town to both celebrate the retirement of an old friend, but also to celebrate our anniversary. The location of Baker's Cottage was close enough to nearby towns for evening entertainment but also quiet and cozy for time together. Our favorites were sitting on the porch with the screens to enjoy the cooler mountain air and relax, as well as breakfast fixed by hubby eaten out on the porch just over the babbling brook running through the property. It was a great little cabin with recent updates to modernize it a bit without losing it's charm. Was super-clean which is not easy to find in keeping with my personal expectations so that was one less stressor as I often spend the start of any vacation getting a place up to those standards and I didn't have to lift a finger related to that here - a huge thank you to Holly & Tonya! Btw - we visited Red Dog Bar & Bistro sitting on the outside porch in the back for dinner and live music which was lovely, thank you for the suggestion!

Great hideway
My wife and I were looking for a quick getaway to have some time to decompress from several stresses happening in our lives during the past two months. This was a perfect solution for us. The cabin was built in 1935 and is still in the family. There is a creek that runs directly behind the cabin and one night we sat out on the back deck and listened to the creek. Another night we sat on the covered front porch and listened to the rain. The cabin was very quiet and relaxing. Tonya was extremely extremely accommodating and left us a some cinnamon bites us at check in. She also had left some dog treats for Brian, which he loved. Overall this was exactly what we needed and Tonya was a great host. I would highly recommend the Baker Cabin to anyone.

Cozy, quaint, hidden gem
My husband and I had a wonderful week in this beautiful and comfortable cottage. The outdoor spaces were varied and a joy to the senses--a running brook, lovely landscaping, fire pit, shady and sunny areas, covered outdoor seating and table and more. The large screen TVs were specially enjoyed by my husband and a lovely sunroom was a great place for me to read and relax. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The host was easy to reach, responsive and accommodating. We hope to stay there again and will tell family and friends about this gem.

What an adorable cottage! Sure, the floors were not level….but the beds were great. The bathrooms had been updated. There was a terrific sunroom….and the property was gorgeous. We had two dog with us and they loved the space to run and catch a frisbee. The house was equipped with so many amenities. I would definitely visit again. We spent one day hiking at Grayson Highlands State Park in VA and another day we did an urban walk through West Jefferson, NC

Great visit
This was a return visit to the beautiful peaceful cottage. We got to meet Tonya, her husband and Tonya mother. We enjoyed our stay. When we were at the cottage we stayed on the front porch watching the birds and wildlife. We saw dear, squirrels, and we think a bear cub. There were red birds, doves, blue jays, woodpeckers and all kinds of birds. The cottage is so comfortable and cozy. Love the way it is decorated. Will go back to this cottage every chance I get.

Short but Sweet
My husband, son, and I stayed for a few days Easter weekend. We are familiar with the area and always enjoy going into West Jefferson and exploring at the New River State Park (search for the US 221 entrance to find the real park). We were greeted at this adorable cabin with some goodies for ourselves and for our dog, that was an extra nice touch! The cabin was very clean and cozy. Our favorite parts were the creek, the sunroom, and the fire pit. We will definitely look at renting this space again! (To our hosts, we found at least 2 great places to hang a hammock near the creek that would be an added bonus to all of the sweet amenities! wink, wink)

Cozy Cottage
Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance of the cottage. The interior is beautifully decorated with antique rustic charm, and the touches of Christmas added to the overall cozy atmosphere. The comfortable furnishings provided the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the great outdoors. The cottage is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a fully stocked kitchen, making it easy to prepare meals and dine in. The spacious deck was an ideal spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or unwind with a glass of wine. The location of the cottage couldn't be more perfect. The attentive hosts ensured that our stay was nothing short of spectacular, adding little touches like a sweet treat for us and treats for our dogs. Comfort and joy
Even though my stay was short, no amenities were spared. The cottage was warm and cozy, tastefully decorated in the holiday spirit and a cinnamon pecan ring was a nice treat paired with a hot cup of coffee. We never leave disappointed. Looking forward to returning again.

Christmas at the Cottage
Wow, just Wow! My family wanted a mountain getaway to spend some time together for Christmas, and this was the perfect place. When we walked in the door it was an overwhelming feeling of ‘going home’. It was warm, tastefully decorated in general and for the holidays, and full of Christmas spirit. The hosts thought of every detail, including our favorite pastries and treats for our fur babies. They loved the outdoor area and running along the creek, and the sunroom is the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The cottage was immaculate and the hosts are great folks that have made this an awesome place to vacation.
