Tent glamping stay at the Station was very good. Close to ablutions. Very comfortable bed. Air conditioned tent. Food is outstanding. Compliments to the chefs! Live entertainment every night. Central to walks and gorges.
No road sign at Gibb River Rd turn off the highway.
Amazing place, so many great things to see nearby. Staff so friendly and helpful would definitely come back.

Disappointed
El Questro, The Station, is a mid-level caravan park like location and if it were sold as such you would not be so disappointed on arrival. The web site sells you a reasonably expensive but apparently super cute stone cottage with a garden view whereas what you get is a room in a besa block building looking out on the permanent tents.
There is little advice on exploring the very beautiful area only encouragement to pay for one of their guided tours.
Most appallingly there is no mention of the traditional owners of the land nor of the history of the white invasion of the area.
The Restaurant, Maddie in particular, is excellent.
Big thank you to Vinnie for our very informative tour of Explosion Gorge.
We travelled as two couples and stayed for 4 days in September, one in a garden view room and the other in a river view room. Both rooms were clean and serviced daily. The staff were all friendly and assisted with information regarding trails (both 4WD and walking) and advised us the best time of day to visit each. The Swinging Arm Bar is a great place to sit and relax while listening to the Station's musician after a long day of exploring. The facilities are well equipped with a general store and there are several washing machines if needed and some great shady spots to sit down by the river.
We self catered while we were there and I have to say the camp kitchen facilities are some of the best we have seen. The on site restaurant is not exorbitant and probably equivalent prices to what you would expect to pay at any pub in Sydney. We visited near the end of the season so there wasn't as much water around as if you went just after the wet, but there was still plenty of places to take a dip and the gorges and Zebedee Springs were still beautiful. We also took a helicopter ride over the property which was a highlight.
We hope to visit El Questro again, it really is a beautiful part of Australia!

Hotel restaurant ran out out of food after we were convinced by waitress to choose the buffet menu. Accomodation way over priced.
