Him: I found the abundance of outdoor security cameras, 7 by my count, quite unsettling. The cameras are designed to send notifications to the owner by PC or phone app, using audio and visual surveillance feeds. The security measures felt excessive. You can't walk anywhere around the property without being potentially watched. The security camera for the outdoor patio area is also concerning as it compromises the personal privacy of guests. One patio camera overlooks a bedroom so you need to close the curtains. The automated outdoor lighting and patio heater didn't work. The owner requested we keep our showers limited to 3 minutes and to take our garbage away with us when we left. His listing says a wood fire is available, however after booking (which was non-refundable) he emailed us and retracted saying not to use it. The same was said for the washing machine. Also no ping pong table. The listing needs updating. Cleanliness was lacking indoors, with issues like dirty toilet seat, dog slobber on glass sliding doors, and heavy dust accumulation under beds. We only came across one cockroach in the kitchen but bug spray was available. Kitchen appliances were left grubby. Property is not on a river.
Her: The bottle of wine was a welcoming touch. We booked for 5 nights. We do have 2 small dogs which made it appealing. Unfortunately, the photos and listed amenities are misleading, but the location is rural and peaceful. The lack of cleanliness was very concerning for me.
