As a traveler, it is great to be in the center of things. It was awesome to get up every am and be able to walk one way out the front door and go to the cat cafe, and go the other way and find too many awesome things to mention. Hotel staff - front desk & restaurant/bar were very nice to deal with.

Lovely staff. Terrible building. Bathroom had no bin, sauna not working, was not informed, very noisy all night people banging doors and making noise, shower leaked, no fan in bathroom, no climate control in room, room not ready on arrival, cleaning and hoovering going in at 5pm in next door room when trying to rest, swimming pool area not clean enough or inviting. Love Edinburgh, staff kind and friendly, coffee dreadful kippers excellent.

This hotel doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s lovely inside. The staff was extremely friendly and concerned for our comfort. The room was clean and smelled clean. Towels large and soft. Comfy bed. Very good choices at breakfast. The only negative about this hotel are the bedroom doors! They are so thin I can hear every conversation going on out in the hallway. Even whispering. But the location is excellent to shopping and restaurants and the castle!

Hotel is in great location. Bar and reception staff lovely. Rooms big and airy. Would have given 5 stars but 3 issues including no extractor fan in bathroom. Manager overheard me mention these at checkout and said he would contact me but still have heard nothing - hence only 4 stars.
