this is great hotel, El nido is an island in a third world country so expect minor glitches,
The staff were fantastic when you get talking to them, treat them with kindness and they reflect it right Back at you which is beautiful.
We extended our stay for another 4 nights.
Stay in a delux room on the 4th floor. You have a whole roof top to yourself.

For starters the room booked wasn’t a seaview as advertised and payed for. Sliding door in the room didn’t close properly so we could hear all the noise from the streets and surrounding pubs until early hours of the morning. Check in went fairly smoothly even though we maid a last minute reservation. Otherwise could have been better for the money spent. Location is in the busy part of town though..

Catherine, the receptionist, was very friendly and went out of her way one evening to find medications for us after all the local stores were closed. We were very appreciative.
Nice view of the bay if you get a deluxe room on the top floor (4th Floor). Power outage everyday in the entire town. No wifi in the rooms. Wifi is week (all of El Nido). The AC was not hooked to the generator so I was dying in heat. Couldn't sleep. The TV had issues which they couldnt fix. The staff was quite incompetent. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Wifi and AC are 2 of the most important things IMO. No Wi-Fi. Said was"weak." Needed to go 3blocks to restaurant for Wifi. Fo ac to work well in tropical climate the unit has to push the cold air and bathroom vent fan has to help eliminate hot air. In our case bathroom fan not working. System fail . Only stayed one night which was good. Nice view from 3rd floor over buildings of water. Short walk thru buildings to beach where boat tour launched.
Rooftop room, awesome view of the harbor. Great location, ceiling fan, however no elevator so we had to go up 4 cases of stairs. Wifi didn't work, bathroom can be improved.
First night no hot water. 2nd night no AC. Also, no shower curtain and bed only had thin sheets no blanket.

Decent price and close to everything
Only downfall is they dont have a fridge in the room and the aircon was old and LOUD compare to the second room we got but overall, id definitely come back to Garnet Hotel
The stay was overall great, only one negative feedback would be that the wifi wouldn't work in the rooms (only in the lobby).

Average at its best - I grade it a 3/5.
I will not return if I had other options. Aircon was not working well, we had to transfer to another room. Not much amenities to talk about. Staff was very nice though.
To be a Hotel should have a restaurant, when we booking it says have a Wifi but only in the lobby what it says in room even in the lobby it wasn't good. I have a friend/tour guide with me and I'm paying his room, time of check out, I disappointed for charging me 6 percent surcharge on my travel cash card then she issued receipt only for not including the surcharge. Her attitude it so bad when I ask for receipt for the I paid.
Though, WIFI didn't reach our room, we were still so happy with the service that we received from the hotel's staff. Our stay was exceptional. I will come back to El Nido and stay at this hotel again.
