We really like staying here. This time we stayed mountain side. All was great aside from a staff member trying to come in to our room stating we had called in asking for a half cleaning. I called to the front to inquire and no one ever bothered to check in on it and get back to me - pretty unprofessional. I’m Just glad that my husband was in the room when the staff member tried to come in. Funny thing is this person tried to come in a few minutes after my daughter and I left the room. Pretty suspicious in my opinion.

FAMILY VACATION JEWEL

Starting at the resort was an excellent experience. Some of the offerings were a little bit “cheesy” — but as far as the room and the environment — we were more than pleased. They were obvious in their desire to pitch a time-share “opportunity” — but not demanding that we invest the hour-and-a-half to hear their pitch. We elected to pass on the invitation, even though they offered $150 Visa card for participating. Basic rooms are nice, but ready for revival. Golf course is very beautiful and affordable, especially for guests she owners. AMAZING PLACE FOR FAMILIES!!! TAKE GRANDKIDS — pool areas are AMAZING. Fitness Center is TOP NOTCH. The Grill is … fine. The Market is … expensive. The Farmers Market is fun. The Beer Tasting is … a waste of time. The Overall Experience — GREAT! Take the WHOLE FAMILY. AMAZING FAMILY FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE!

We really love coming to this hotel. It is one of our favorites and we visit every year. Hyatt has done some great things with the property! However, after this visit, we are seriously questioning coming back. One of the main reason we pick hotels is that they have late check out, and the Welk has always been accommodating, until Hyatt took over. They will let you about their late check out policy, which “hasn’t changed” - you must call any time after 7AM to try and get a later time. We always check out on Sunday, since we stay for the 4 day weekend. The last 3 stays, we have called at 7:02AM (literally) and each time they inform us that there are too many guests checked in to give any late check outs. This visit, I asked the front desk who said “weekends are always busy.” So, you, the hotel, know that you are going to have too many people on the upcoming weekend, then DON’T tell us there is a possibility of a late check out and to call at 7AM!!! Just tell us you can’t accommodate it ahead of time. This is SO important, as I work nights and the 2 hours of missed sleep completely ruins the next week’s routine. Something must change about this policy. Either take it away on the weekends and be straightforward about it, or honor what you say and let people check out later. Honestly, you don’t have enough maids to clean 300 rooms in 2 hours, I think they can stagger their times and still allow some rooms to check out late. We may give it one more try. Your move, Hyatt!
