Booked a last minute 3 night break. The location of the hotel is right on the sea front. There is ample parking at a cost of £6 per night for hotel guests. My room was large and comfortable, good sized bathroom and very clean. I booked half board and was good value for money. The evening menu changed daily with around 4 options each for starter, main course & dessert. The bar area was comfortable and had windows overlooking the garden & sea, the outside space was very well kept. The location was good for local transport links..,,I got the train into Exeter. The station was about 10 mins walk away and the journey was just under 30 minutes. I really enjoyed my stay and given the price I paid was excellent value for money

The bathroom had a very small sink (room 22) and not enough shelf space to put all your wash kit, especially as there were 2 of us. The only complaint from a very pleasant stay. Reception girl was ver good. Nice and helpful.

A great location
The hotels location is excellent and the staff friendly and great in every way. However, the owners of this hotel need to invest heavily as it is in a bad state of repair. It is however cheap and value for money, its just a shame as it could be magnificent. The dinner was particularly good both nights.

We had our dog so we’re given a ground level room with sliding patio doors straight out to the garden which was brilliant especially as our dog is a little nervy and would be stressed having to go through the hotel, it was also easy for us to get out and about with no bother,

Worth the visit

Lovely old building with the quirks that go with that. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, from reception, the bar, and the dining room. The evening meal was absolutely amazing and definitely not what we expected - they've managed to find an excellent chef! Had a balcony room with a sea view which was ideal and huge. Needed brighter light bulbs. Also maybe position the mirror so you could plug in the hairdryer and use it in front of the mirror, with a light so you can see as well. Fantastic location literally across the road from the beach so the views from the balcony were amazing. Would stay again.
