Like all properties in the area, this hotel is an older building which has been renovated and modernized. The location is very central and walkable to all attractions in and around the Domo and the tram from and to the city center from the airport. The room was relatively large and very clean and the bathroom had all the amenities of a modern hotel with a nice shower, which is a must for me. The staff was super friendly and helpful and spoke English fluently. The breakfast was average but sufficient. Price taken into consideration, I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel, great location
This hotel was gorgeous! The rooms were lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see in town from this location. Lots of fine restaurants all around it. Large breakfast every morning.

Appalling. No hot water for the entirety of my stay. Cold showers - with complaints about this answered with a shrug. Room stiflingly hot as no working AC and shutters not closed on arrival to shield sun. "Manager" offered "solution" of a fan, which was broken, noisy and useless. Asked for iron and ironing board. Was given a broken iron and a board with no cover - bare metal. I kid you not. Slow, single elevator inexplicably has glass walls, stained by grease, offering a "view" of the rubbish and pigeon poop in the "courtyard" below. Major water leaks from roof left puddles in corridors. This in an allegedly four-star hotel. It is one to two stars AT BEST but way, way overpriced for this level of service, comfort, cleanliness and basic competence. Avoid like the plague. You can do far better for your money in Florence. This hotel is an embarrassment to the city. And it has made me question Expedia’s ratings, given how highly Expedia thought of it. A review needed there.

Sufficient is the only word I have to fully describe our stay. We booked the “Junior Suite”. The desk told us second floor and we couldn’t find the room. It was behind the maids carts in an hallway up a crazy weird little staircase. It was a large room with a lot of space, that is the only compliment I have. It looked NOTHING like the rooms online on the website that were advertised. It was hard to carry the luggage up. It is NOT secure. It has a funny little tiny French door system that is secured by a skeleton key with no notches, any child could pick the lock. I told the desk I felt unsafe and they said it is the only room without an electronic lock and there were no other rooms. The shower drain did not work, there was no shower door (there were tracks so it was clearly missing). The toilet ran. There was only one real bed and two VERY worn out couch beds. The cups in the pantry were dirty. The front desk told us a taxi would take 3 min and not to pre-order one, and then when we came down they said it was 40 min. We almost missed our train. Other than it is close to a lot of things, I would not stay here again, especially not in the weird little room that is 209.

We arrived a couple of hours early and were pleasantly surprised when the hotel offered us early check-in, which is not something we experience often. Our room was exceptionally spacious, almost as if it were part of a converted residence, featuring a kitchen with a sitting area, two bedrooms, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. The staircase was particularly beautiful, with ornate detailing and spiral steps. The location was ideal, just a short distance from the Accademia, making it convenient for sightseeing. The included breakfast was decent too
