This hotel was a waste of money. First off parking is horrible! They only have a valet parking which by the way is $50 every day and I was staying for 6 days. No self parking you had to find a parking spot and pay for overnight so we were still screwed. The pool had so much chlorine that it turned my husband’s swimming trunks from green to a grey. The room was small the beds were so uncomfortable and small, definitely not queen and toilet barely flushed. The fridge can hardly hold anything because it’s so small. This was such of waste of money, plus the extra money for parking! The only good thing was the view but not worth the price.

This is normally my go to hotel. I’ve been here multiple times. This visit the AC in the ocean facing corner room wouldn’t turn off. Literally Arctic level. Stayed 5 nights. 1st night asked to correct AC problem & was told the thermostat didn’t work in room & had to be turned off remotely from engineering. Ok. That evening asked to turn it back on. Return to the Arctic. Next day asked for a true fix. On Thanksgivings afternoon. Room was 62degrees. Crazy cold. Front desk folks were zero help. Next day had a very vocal meeting w front desk & hoped they would correct the problem on our return. They did Not. Finally Terrance ( a hvac tech for the hotel) identified a bad actuator on our 5th night of hot as hell or cold as ice. Terrance was the bright star offering a room switch & a real response. Front desk response was nonchalant & multiple contact via phone & in person got no results. Not happy. Won’t return again unless corporate addresses this. Was a loyal customer. Hope that they contact & address.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel only if you are there for the view. I left with a feeling of being cheated out of my money. The charge upon booking showed $630 which turned into $820 upon the checkout. So, you end up paying almost $200 more. And it’s not taxes! Most expenditures are hidden and it’s almost impossible to understand the bill. There is no drinking water fountain. You would have to pay $8 per small bottle at the hotel or make a trip to the supermarket nearby which is not at all comfortable in the heat. Plus, the expense. A so-called breakfast buffet paid for when booking a hotel is not really a buffet but a regular restaurant-served meal, so be prepared to wait and spend an hour to have breakfast. On top of it, you will definitely find the extra charge for it on your card after the checkout. You would expect the room service to be included by default at the hotel of this price but no, you would have to ask at the reception for your room to be cleaned and pray that they will not forget to send someone up to do it. Otherwise, you are left with the untidy room till the next day. They are also not careful with keeping the record of the late checkouts. I deliberately paid for it to get a chance to have a good rest before the overnight trip back home but was rudely awakened by the cleaning lady who stormed into the room to get it ready for the new guests. It turned out no one from the reception bothered to let her know that we were leaving late.

They need to advise you at checking in that housekeeping services are available if you ask for it. The internet service was poor. The bathroom is very small for a king deluxe suite. Staff at front desk was friendly.

The Sonesta is easily close to so many things to do. The beach is right across, the staff are friendly and the pool was nice. Will hopefully be back in the future.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean, and the property itself was neat and clean. There are many food options within walking distance. And the view of the beach, which is directly across the street, where fantastic. Only downside, is the breakfast in the hotel restaurant is expensive.
