Staff was great. Our stay was cut short because of the hurricane. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful location. It’s hard for me to evaluate fully, because we had to evacuate due to a dangerous storm developing in the Gulf shortly after we arrived. The resort was clean, quiet, and rather quaint.
My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights, we did leave one night early due to hurricane helene and power outages. We had to wait until the water receded and it was safe to leave the island. We were already here when it hit unfortunately. Staff moved us up to the second floor, the general manager Nicole was excellent and present at the property and made sure everyone was safe and taken care of.
They bill themselves as a resort When in all actuality it’s a very old hotel trying to be a resort. All they have to offer is a pool and restaurant. The rooms leave a lot to be desired. The beds were comfortable and sheets appeared clean. That’s about all.

Walls are too thin and you can hear people next door ….
The sliding door on the shower got stuck and I hurt my hand trying to open it
The pool staff… one was excellent… the other one doesn’t know what service means
We enjoyed our stay at the resort. One thing that could have been helpful would have been a pamphlet with Wifi info, restaurant times . Seriously the area should be sprayed for no seeums . There are natural and environmentally friendly sprays. It was not fun at the beach or pool area because of them in the late afternoon. The room we were in had no shelf to put your vanity case etc There is plenty of room for shelf. The sink area was small so no room there. I had to put my toiletries on the TV table The staff was friendly and pleasant. When we stay at places, I usually buy something at the resort's store but there wasn't much merchandise to select from, so I didn't here.
Everything was perfect. My only complaint was that I stopped at the front desk one evening asking for bottled water, the gentleman informed me that they do not supply any water and to purchase it at the market. I felt for the money we were paying that it should be complimentary. The rest of the staf was amazing.
We loved the location and cleanliness. Pool and beach were great. The only improvement I would like to see is an outside area for people to enjoy their own food and beverage without having to walk to beach. No outside food and beverages were allowed at the pool where all the tables were located.
Property is clean and rooms are almost brand new. Staff at front desk and at restaurants were warm and friendly. Food at the restaurant was terrific. My only negative is we asked for a late checkout and the policy of the hotel is to charge $50/hr beyond noon time. While I can appreciate this policy during high season as rooms need to turn over, management has a choice during low season on a policy like this: you can either make money or make loyalty. In your case, you decided to make money on it. I would have suggested that because it's low season--you could have earned my loyalty by allowing me a late checkout without a cost--as nobody is checking in after us on a Monday. So in the future, I may consider this hotel--but I'll also consider other options. My advice is if gaining loyalty costs you nothing do it--it's worth a lot more than the dollars you made on my late checkout.
I have been coming to Sanibel Beach resort for over 20 years. It was originally a holiday Inn and for 20 years I have been coming at least three times a year whether I live in Miami or I live up in Pensacola, I always manage to come. I was just there in July and now I came for this weekend, the renovations are gorgeous. The staff is constantly cleaning walking around. I know that there was a hurricane Ian, but the resort is doing well. It was peaceful. It was quiet. It’s my favorite beach. I’ve been to Miami Beach Fort Lauderdale Beach Waco Island, the Keys Navarre Beach Pensacola Beach and Sanibel is where it’s at , and this resort is the only place to enjoy serenity
