Cheaply kept, other peoples hair all over the place, pretty sure the front desk clerk was smoking cigarettes inside as it was overwhelming when my kids and i went downstairs to grab something.

Parking was limited and some vehicles were double-parked. Grounds and building could use a good pressure-washing and updated landscaping. Interior carpeting could use updating or deep steam cleaning. Overall, the facility has good amenities, felt safe, and the staff was courteous during check in and check out. I would stay here again.

Overall was an ideal place to stay for just a night by myself. The front desk staff was super sweet and helpful however the beds weren’t all that comfy and the walls are paper thin. I could hear the guests in the room next to me watching tv, talking or even going to the bathroom.

Wine Country Inn - clean rooms at reasonable price

Wine Country Inn was a very clean, well-run hotel resembling an older Motel 6, but with interior doors. We were enjoying a night out at Albert Dance Hall and didn’t want to drive all the way home. We love Fredericksburg, so it was an easy decision to spend the night here. The receptionist was friendly, the room was very clean, and the king-sized bed was comfortable to me, as I like a firm mattress. It was a bit hard for my husband, though. The location was convenient to the nearby wineries and abundant shopping that the town has to offer. The hotel was nothing fancy, but was perfect for our purposes and even included a breakfast bar complete with fruit, coffee, juice, milk, cereal, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and the Texas waffle griddle to make your own waffle, as well as bread for toasting.

Updated and remodeled older hotel near downtown

Older completely updated and remodeled hotel. It is a few blocks off the Main Street in Fredericksburg so the traffic is less and it is quiet. There is free parking but limited RV or trailer spaces. The continental breakfast had cafe, apples, pastry, cereal and hard boiled eggs. It was not fancy but adequate. The rooms were clean and the mattress firm but comfortable. The hotel is a definite upgrade from a Motel 6 but not an upscale room.

This is a very nice place to stay. It was quiet and beds were comfortable. Breakfast could've been better. If you like to get up and have breakfast at a hotel. They will not have eggs or sausage or biscuits. Overall it's not bad for the price and the convenience of being close to Main street. We would stay here again.

Surprised at how much more I liked this little motel than I thought I would! We booked last minute for Valentine's night.....everything else in town was booked up. The good reviews caught my attention, so we took a chance. The room was spotless, shower pressure good, bed comfortable. Only complaint- while there was fridge microwave and ironing board in room, there was no coffee maker, an almost fatal flaw. The coffee available downstairs was meh. Next time we stay (and there will be a next time), we'll bring our own coffee maker. So coffee lovers, come prepared and you will enjoy this little gem that is so much more affordable than other Fredericksburg options.

The staff was friendly and the grounds well kept. The location is very convenient to HEB and to Main St. The walls are super thin -- could hear conversations and the TV in the next room as well as voices and doors closing in the hall. It didn't sound like the other guests were raising their voice. Not much room on the bathroom vanity, especially for a "King" room, so if you like to take your makeup out of the bag to use it, or if there are 2 guests sharing counter space, one will most likely need to put their stuff on the counter by the TV. Property has Direct TV. I was there on a weekend and couldn't find a local channel for news or anything else besides really outdated movies. I prefer options with local channels and national news/weather. When I did find a news channel, the program guide said it wouldn't start until "Sunday at 9 am" or "Monday at 6 am." I was going to be gone Saturday morning. The price was VERY reasonable (under $100/night with taxes/fees), and the room was clean. The hot water (and water pressure) was great. Refrigerator was handy. Breakfast ok -- waffle maker is always a plus -- but boiled egg was more like "poached" because it was runny. It's a good place for one or 2 nights, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay if you're a light sleeper.
