A trip just north of Parry Sound puts you right in the middle of the terrain that has inspired the Group of Seven and so many other artists and photographers. The natural beauty of such wonderfully scenic areas such as Pointe au Baril, the Key River and the French River have been made easily accessible to those wanting to experience the beauty of the area between Muskoka and Nipissing.
At just under 3 and a half hours from the GTA, this Parry Sound cottage rental is an easy drive but far enough to really get away from it all!
Loon Lookout captures the majesty of the lake, enjoying wonderful views from atop the ridge of the Nipissing Southwest Arm Valley.
The cottage is clean and bright inside. As you step in, the large living space opens in front of you. After daylight hours or on rainy days, you will likely find your group congregating here for games and conversation. Those who can't tear themselves away from the virtual office will jump on the prime location for home workers - a desk facing outside and overlooking the water.
We'd like you to get out and enjoy all cottaging has to offer, but if you must talk to the boss, there is no better place to do so. Unlimited WiFi lets you keep up with the office and supports Zoom calls with work, family, or friends - you DO want to brag about the great time you're having, right?
The kitchen divides the main living area from the dining room and a wonderful sun porch. THIS is where we can see people really getting their "relax" on, and it's now winterized and available for year-round use! Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms and a 2-piece powder room that complements the 3-piece bathroom on the main floor.
Are you the lead couple in the group or have someone that wants a place of their own for your stay? If so, you might want to claim dibs on the adjacent cabin that is adjacent to the main cottage. The guest cabin consists of a living area, dining area, and a composting toilet (no bathroom), and is able to sleep 4 comfortably (beds for 5 people). The privacy of the two cottages makes it the perfect spot for two families to vacation together or in separate groups.
Please note that during the winter months, the water system is not functional in the sleep cabin. It remains heated, but anything requiring water usage needs to be done in the main cottage.
Moving to the lake, a pathway traverses the waterfront. While the waterfront is easily accessible for all able-bodied persons, those with serious mobility concerns may need some assistance as there is a short steeper section.
The surrounding area teems with natural appeal. A paddle up or down the lake is a constant photo-op, with rugged beauty that never ends. For those bringing a power boat, the waters of Lake Nipissing are at your disposal and the fish await.
While the necessities can be had in nearby Monetville or Noelville (where we recommend a visit to the Voyageur Chip Stand for french fries or fresh pickerel), the northern cities of North Bay and Sudbury are both within an hour's drive. Golfers? Bring the clubs! Meadow Springs Golf Course is just 5 km away.
