Overall, I found the hotel charming and quirky. It's about a 5-minute walk from the train station and a similar distance from the beach, so it's really convenient.
It's quirkiness is in its layout. It covers more than one building (I think), with walkways between them. It's a bit of a rabbit warren, but you're given a map on arrival. The staff are friendly and helpful.
My room was on one side of a courtyard, on the second floor. At street level was the, erm, street (or, at least, a pedestrianised public area). It was on the small side, but was plenty for what I needed and worth the price I paid. I was very close to the reception area. On the up-side, this meant I didn't have far to go to get in and out. The down-side was that practically everyone staying at the hotel had to pass my room when entering or leaving the hotel, which sometimes made it hard to relax.
I didn't eat dinner at the hotel but the breakfast buffet was great.
I'd recommend the hotel for those who like a place with character and aren't looking for high-end luxury.
