The room was cold, therefore I was very uncomfortable. Efforts on behalf of the staff to fix the problem were ineffective.

If you haven't stayed at the El Rancho, you've missed a cultural icon! It's a gem, and we always stay there when going through Gallup.

The Hotel was a nostalgic stop for my dad on Route 66. The hotel is better than it looks on the side. Very unique and historical. The staff and service shine here. The amenities are ok. The restaurant is convenient but not great. The area around it is super shady. The armed security in the parking lot was reassuring but don’t go outside on foot after dark.

We loved our stay here. Cool history in the hotel. The surrounding town has a lot to offer as well. Excellent local coffee shop and food in the downtown. If you stay here do not forget to support the town as well. The area of the hotel does have an unsafe element but other reviewers may blow this out of proportion. The hotel does its best to keep its guests feeling safe. There is a security guard active all day and there is 24-hour surveillance. Listen to the hotel and take your belongings into the hotel with you and no problem. This is an awesome stay and there is a beautiful town with history you need to expose yourself to. Every time we pass through Gallop and need to rest I will be on the lookout for a stay here.

We are on a road trip and happen to cone across the historic El Rancho and we nwed a place to rest oir heads for the night. Truly amazing spot and loved all the history behind this place and such a cool place! We stayed in the Route 66 part because it was more roomy for us but we are chevy lovers and loved these rooms! The staff were also super friendly and helpful. We talked with quiet a few and everyone was so friendly. We also talked with the person working the gift shop for a bit and we talked about the remodeling and the experince she has had so far and it was such a pleasent and cool conversation. Will definitely be back to check out the celebrity rooms next time.

Restaurant attendant was incredibly rude. He seemed like he was incredibly burned out. Stated that there was a large party and we would have to wait. Didn't offer to put us on a wait list. Could have simply had a sign reserved for a large party. It was so loud there I don't think we would have been comfortable eating there anyway. Also imagine the worst coffee you have ever drank and then add a half a cup of water to that with sweet and lows packets

Was very cool staying in a historical hotel. Loved the vintage and memorabilia around the hotel. Small and quaint rooms, just a bit noisy with the trains passing at night. Overall great stay!

Paint the parking spaces better and put GUEST PARKING on them The elevator was a problem. I think most guests did not grasp the concept to CLOSE both doors (gate). Put the directions inside the elevator

We enjoyed looking around the property. Lots of history and memorabilia, very quaint. The rooms and them is just very fun, while also comfortable and well upgraded. The water pressure wasn't great, but it did the job. Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast in the restaurant on property. We would stay here again.
