The property is like when you drink too much and you think someone is really cute but then you sober up and start looking at the details and realize that it is run down and dirty.
Door to the balcony would not lock, dents/small holes in the walls, mismatched paint patches, dirty grout/baseboards, blown light bulbs, dirty glass light fixtures, shower curtain was fabric and stained, face clothes/towels had yellow stains, mold/peeling paint in the shower, curtain rod was disgusting, a previous guest's hair in the dresser drawers, freezer door was non-existent/freezer was a solid block of ice, blackout/privacy curtain did not cover the entire French doors which led to a bright beam of light in the room all night, air conditioner sounded like a diesel engine, coffee packets were already open and used, sheets were questionable so we slept wrapped up in our travel blankets for the night because there was no other place available, employees were helpful but not too thrilled to do it. NOT USA-operated. I'm not trying to be a Karen, but for the high price we paid we really expected much better. I don't need the Ritz but I do need a clean room at least. The only plus side to our visit to the Econolodge was the river view, if you can call it that.
Won't be back to Econolodge again and Expedia should not recommend them on their site because it will hurt their ratings.
