The location was good, but was a noisy district. Sounding proofing was poor so you could hear everything going on in other rooms and in the stairwells. This meant rooms were noisy. Only one towel in bathroom for two. Booking for my son was not found despite booking holiday together. Staff forgot to return my passport after check in and blamed me for it. No toothbrush or any toiletries in bathroom. Very very basic at best.

Good for business stay

The Excelsior is ideally situated for the station and centre of Geneva and is on a fairly quiet street. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Internet connection not always good, especially in evening, and no English channels on TV. Reception staff are always friendly and helpful. Will use again as good value for money and convenient.

Hotel Excelsior

The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable bed and great shower. I had a room with courtyard view which was very quiet. Location very easy for station and close to good restaurants. Wifi was intermittant but new system was installed while I was there which was more reliable.

perfect budget stopover in Geneva

Excellent service and value for money. Only 3 minutes walk from main railway station. Good Continental breakfast including boiled eggs. Would definitely stay again.

Short stay in Geneva

Great little spot, one min to lake, one min to train and buses and right opposite a great supermarket. Only downsides were no air conditioning and no real catering facilities but that was solved by trip to supermarket. Great value for Geneva.

Good hotel, good location

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was what was expected, clean, big enough and nicely decorated. The only problem was internet connection which was very slow. Breakfast good but not a huge selection of foods compared to other hotels. Overall nice hotel right in the centre of Geneva and very close to the train station.

great location

Great location and helpful staff. Room was good, spacious and had a refurbished bathroom. Buffet breakfast was quite limited but included in the room price. One of the best hotels I've stayed in central Geneva for the price.

Great access to the mountains

The hotel and the staff was all great. Good breakfast, although a little expensive at $25 each. The hotel is hard to find and is NOT within walking distance as we had thought - at least not pulling suitcases. The 2nd day, we walked back from the town center and it was very doable in good weather and not carrying anything and knowing at that point where it was located. Perhaps the equivalent of six or seven blocks. If you want to be close to the train or bus, you will have to pick a hotel right in town. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
