Friendly and helpful staff. Lack of food and drinks during the day. Would like to see a (cash) coffee machine with multiple choices available 24hrs in the lounge. Fish in pond and aquarium are spectacular.

Overall, pretty good!

I arrived as it was getting dark and the exterior of the hotel did not inspire! Very tatty cat park to drive through with no lighting before reaching the main entrance. Inside the reception is a little tired but the staff are really friendly and helpful. My room was very spacious and comfortable airgun the tv was very small given the Suze of the room. Bathroom was clean with a big shower cubicle. Didn't use the bar, but the restaurant was very quiet for dinner. Fairly extensive menu - food was good. Breakfast was limited but ok. If I return to the area, I will stay again as the venue as a whole represents excellent VFM.

Hotel for contractors

First impression...hotel for contractors. Walked into reception, reception staff were lovely, but couldn't get past the weird smell. Our room.......well it seemed snug, but I think that was due to the bunkbeds right next to our bed, everything seemed very basic and only there for a purpose rather than aesthetically pleasing. Bed was not the most comfortable. Walked around our room in socks/shoes, didnt feel comfortable being bare foot. The added wrapper of a bed bug detector in our room gave me some concern. Cooked breakfast was nicer than I anticipated, again everything seemed basic. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Dont get me wrong, I've seen worse places, but this is definitely somewhere for lads working away, everything was just basic, I wouldn't recommend if couples want a nice night away together........

This was our second stay at the King Charles and again it exceeded expectations, from the comfortable room to the excellent breakfast, friendly staff and ambience. The bar food was particularly tasty and reasonably priced, so we are looking forward to visiting again very soon!

Cheap and cheerful

Clean and cheap but cheerful. Lovely breakfast but finished at 9:30 so early given it was a break away and wanted a lie in. Cleaners also came about 8:45. Staff all friendly and helpful. Free car park on site (enter your reg.)
