Wonderful and classic Grand Canyon experience.

I hadn’t been to the Grand Canyon since I was very young. I thought I knew what to expect but my expectations were exceeded upon our arrival. The El Tovar Hotel was a very nice part of the whole experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well appointed while keeping its 100+ year old vibe. The Canyon was only feet away - what views. Thie whole experience of the El Tovar and Grand Canyon was wonderful.

The Grand Canyon is exceptional. My only comment is that when booking, if you need NO STAIRS, as my friends and I did, do not click 'yes' when the prompt comes for 'would you like a ground floor?' It's the basement! Ask for first floor.

This was one of the worst hotels that we stayed in during five weeks in the US. The staff were rude and unhelpful. There was no atmosphere in the place - It was a cold night and no fires were lit in the large lower or upper level. The property has no lift so all suitcases needed to be carried up the stairs to the room. There is also no support to help when you arrive. The restaurant was turning away people even though it was less than half full and the food was overpriced for what was being served. Would not stay here again.
