Grand Mountain Rentals does not deserve the privilege of managing this extraordinary property. The owners should be aware of their poor ambassadorship and zero regard for basic hospitality. After a weekend on this glorious property, we were yanked out of the peace this place provides, by the nasty treatment of a GMR associate. We were granted a late check out, but she did not communicate this to her cleaning company. The crew arrived 30 min prior to our check out. That's when I received a rude and frantic phone call. I was caught off guard by her tirade, and disrespect. She said things like, "You're lucky I'm letting you be there," making us feel like delinquents as we were leaving the home better than we found it. My husband and I are courteous, punctual people with respect for rules. I doubt this is how the owners want their guests to feel. (I can tell they have pride in ownership and have raised their son to love it as they have. He mowed the lawn, and took such good care of the boats and the house in a way that would make any mother or father proud.) The woman on the phone dropped the ball and, now, her lack of follow-through became my sudden crisis. She even said, "I'm wasting my time talking to you when you could be getting out of the house..." And, she called us! Making us feel so guilty, when we were holding our end of the agreement. We could not shake the anxiety and anguish she induced. If it was me, I'd fire GMR for treating my business with such little care.
