Shupac lake
Wanna start by saying Shupac is a beautiful lake. The house was roomy and we made the best of our stay despite….A hot water heater that would not stay lit despite attempts by the handyman (nice guy) and myself leaving the bunkhouse without hot water. A major inconvenience which was not addressed during the rest of our six day stay. The games and such that are listed with the house were almost all incomplete or broken. No rack or bridge for the pool table plus a missing ball that was substituted with an extra cue ball (no biggie but come on). Missing bags for cornhole game…annoying little stuff that shouldn’t happen if you’re gonna list them as amenities. The hot tub was empty and not hooked up to electricity anyway so why even list it? Then there’s the boat we rented with the house. Nice little pontoon but only one nav light was operational and the boat was unregistered leaving us open to possible fines every time we took it out before noticing. There are other kayaks and canoes and we found enough life vests to stay legal. The “property manager” was more than “unresponsive” leading up to our stay and we heard nothing from him to check and see how things were going once we arrived. Even after being contacted by the handyman about the hot water. There were also mice. Saw em every night.

Bachelor Party
We had 14 guys all around 28 years old staying up there and it was perfect. Plenty of sleeping room and beds (some are in a separate bunk house but very close. There is a small sauna in that bunk house as well. Plenty of parking for everyone. The living room area is great for hanging out and watching football and can see that area which alap has pool table and tv from a big dinning room and kitchen is spacious with everything you need. Backyard was nice and had kayaks and canoe, a dock, and a water trampoline. Lake was nice temperature and not busy at all. Would use this property again.

This place is a DUMP!!!
Arrived to a house INFESTED with chipmunks, a maintenance guy arrived fairly quickly and used spray foam to plug numerous holes throughout the dump, Adam Wright, the owner refused to return calls and texts. There was no hot tub as advertised, no massage chair, no beach, no telescope, no tv’s in every bedroom(just one) so called volleyball nets were rotting away in the weeds, the water trampoline was deflated, kitchen stove has burners that don’t work, grill was not working properly with burners rusted away and broken. There was an imitation blackstone grill that was adequate but would not heat up evenly or get very hot. Overall the place is VERY outdated and dirty. Mold in the showers, baseboard trim missing, sections of flooring missing, bathroom fixtures old and outdated. I could go on and on but the place is by no means what we expected based on the pictures and description used to advertise. My family paid over $6700 for the week to stay in this place…so not worth it! WE WILL BE FILING EVERY POSSIBLE COMPLAINT IMAGINABLE AND ALSO SEEKING LEGAL ACTION FOR FALSE ADVERTISING AND MISREPRESENTATION!!!!

Family Vacation
The property was ideal for our large family vacation. The main house and bunk house accommodated our needs and came stocked with plenty of towels, soap, and other useful items. The kitchen was beautifully updated, dining area was spacious, and available games were utilized on the cooler/rainy days. The lake was BEAUTIFUL, was perfect for fishing and swimming, and definitely was the highlight of the vacation!

Combined Bach Party
The house & bunkhouse were exactly what we wanted for our weekend. We did a combined bachelorette/Bachelor party weekend, so the boys stayed in the bunkhouse and the girls stayed in the house. The house has a large entertaining area that was perfect to play games and hang out all together. The patio & dock were also the perfect spot for hanging out with a beautiful view of the lake. This was the perfect little retreat location and we will definitely be back!

AFTER CHRISTMAS FAMILY GET-AWAY
a great stay with some minor issues. The house we stayed at was beautiful and clean plus well stocked with cleaning supplies, towels, clean bedding and toilet paper/paper towels and other products. Any and all complaints were communicated to Adam and dealt with in a timely manner. As the owner he was quick to respond and eager to accommodate to any and all needs. My family was very happy with the over-all stay and we will definitely be back at some point when it's warmer out.

Hot tub bacteria
The house was described properly and worked for the 12 guys we had. The issue was the hot tub. After using the hot tub everyone that used it developed a rash all over them some so bad that they had to leave early and go to urgent care. Super gross. Still waiting on a response from the host.

Beautiful, Clear Lake!
We had a wonderful time at Shupac Lake! The setup of the property was perfect for our group of 12 (including 5 children, ages 10 months - 12 years old). We rented the pontoon boat for the week and enjoyed fishing every day during our stay. We caught lots of Bluegill and Bass! The lake water is SO clear! We had fun swimming, kayaking, and playing in the sand area by the water, playing cornhole and kickball in the yard, and reading in the hammocks. The firepit area was awesome! It was both a relaxing and fun-filled stay!

Great time! Will be coming back
We had a wonderful stay at this home. It is secluded, big, and was really clean. Adam was great host and answered all of our questions and helped us plan some activities. We saw bald eagles fishing every day in the openings in the ice on the lake right from the living room. We also appreciated the new beds which were very comfortable. Most of the house was remodeled and looks amazing. There are lots of games and things to do inside and I bet the place is even more amazing in the summer. We will be back!

Worst host/experience in VRBO and Iv rented many homes…
Rented and paid for our rental months in advance. Leading up to check-in I reached out multiple times to the host whose name is Adam and got no response. The day of check in (4 hours before) I was messaged by the host that VRBO had double booked the property and we would not be able to stay there. 4 HOURS BEFORE CHECK-IN. We had 14 of us. People put their dogs in day care. Had baby sitters lined up for the weekend. Someone even rented a vehicle to get there. VRBO said it was the hosts fault. He said it was VRBOs. His solution was to give us a refund (that he never gave us) and let us stay for free at another property. The property was listed to fit 10 people and we had 14. The place is as dirty, musty and had 2 large bees nests on the property by the front door and above the house. He did let us use a pontoon on a near by lake for the day and it barely ran and wouldn’t go over 10 mph. There was no space for our size group and everyone went home a day early because we were so cramped. This was all on Labor Day weekend. He promised to send our refund which was around 2,000$ the day after we left. He didn’t. Iv been on the phone with VRBO once a week since then and all they do is say they will reach out to the host and send me a email. They never did. Iv reached out to them and Adam multiple times to response. I have the screenshots of the messages promising a full refund for canceling our trip 4 hours before check in. This guy bragged about having 15 rental properties and 20 boats. Pulled up in a brand new 2023 corvette when we met him. Basically this guy has money and still is screwing up over on our refund. Do yourself a favor and book through someone else. This has been the worst experience of my life from a renter who goes on multiple trips a year. I’m sure he will respond to this and deny or make something up to make you question my integrity but I’d put this on my life that it’s all true and I have the messages from Adam to prove it! Avoid this and save yourself the trouble.

A place with great potential!!
This home is in the process of being remodeled. So there are pieces of trim missing some places. The kitchen is large and newly redone living room is large with lots of sitting room. Very nice for are group of 22. The lake is lovely we enjoyed the kayaks and pontoon very much. Has a fire pit that we spent lots of time around. We would love to give 5 star but with honesty we can’t. The windows were not very clean and we had to clean the grill and get gas for it. And a few other things… but we will not mention everything. As we communicate with the property owner and he said it will be taken care of. And he also was kind in giving us a discount. He also mentioned that he will be doing more updates on the home. That sounded very nice. It also was a good price and we where thankful we didn’t have to reserve and pay for a week like lots of other vrbo homes.
