The region offers beautiful walking and cycling routes, along the city canals, through the forest (2 km) or along the lake (5 km). A visit to the historic center of Groenlo (70 m) with many sights is worthwhile, as is a day in Winterswijk, Bredevoort, Doetinchem, Enschede, Zutphen, Deventer or even Germany (6.6 km to the border). Also, there is a new pop-up museum exhibiting European collection of the late Jan Cremer nearby (closed on Sundays).
