Location and services around this hotel is the reason why I keep staying there. The rooms are very decent, but the restaurant menu could use some upgrades as not too many options at the restaurant. The swimming pool area could also use an upgrade (maybe a temporary cocktails bar) could be more convenient for some of us that would like to enjoy a nice beer or cocktail next to swimming pool.

For an Intercontinental, this was a disappointment
This was a 2 night stay while in GDL on business. I've stayed at Intercontinental hotels before and always been impressed. This visit was a bit of a letdown. The room cleanliness was below average. Carpet in the room and hallway was un-vacuumed and should have been steam cleaned long ago. Upon check in, several items were missing (bottles of water, cups for the bathroom, face towels) and the wifi was about 50% on/off. The guest services lady was very quick to send replacements when I called. However, this is basic stuff and should not happen in a high end hotel. Otherwise the staff were very courteous and helpful. Overall, it's a nice property but management needs to pay more attention.

I do not know about the other rooms, but ours was suprisingly small. We booked quick and asap without thinking due to last minute wedding attendance. The room door had food stain drop on it. The iron would not heat enough to iron any clothing even at the highest setting. There is no microwave. If you would like for room service to heat your food, you will be promptly denied. The water ran hot for at most one minute, then back to luke cold water.

The hotel is old and outdated. It doesnt feel clean and maintained. The lock on my door was broken (like someone attacked it with a screwdriver) and i couldn't deadbolt my door. There was barely a window which made it extremely dark and dreary in the room. The window was in a corner about 36" wide and looked out between 2 concrete walls - so there was no sun and hardly a view. The lobby bar was extremely loud and since the center of the hotel is completely open - you can hear the party all night long even on the 17th floor. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful during my stay. The best thing about about my room was the shower which was fantastic, but there was no ventilation so it was always humid after.
