Overnight stay
Hotel is a grand building with off-road free parking, hotel has a good sizeable entrance, lounge with bar, communal dining area and bedroom was a large room well equipped room with en-suite bathroom. Service was prompt and quick to respond. Breakfast was well catered for even with DF/GF requirements.

Character hotel
Lovely hotel in a really beautiful spot. Great welcome, comfortable clean room and a tasty breakfast. Staff were very friendly and the place has bags of character, we would be happy to stay there again.

A good stay with a very warm welcome with welcome drink offered. Excellent service throughout. Possible additional signage and lighting for ease of finding property at night especially when travelling from Rye.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay at this welcoming hotel. Comfortable room, away from traffic noise (5). We were welcomed eith a cup of coffee and a cake. We slso enjoyed the breakfast.We enjoyed using the swimming pool too. We definitely plan to return.

Very enjoyable one night stay giving excellent value for money. Only one slight issue in that breakfast was quite limited and very slow to appear. Liked the eclectic nature of furnishings, a welcome change from uniform hotel chain interiors.

Had a great 5 days here. Staff are amazing and very helpful. Location is great for visiting Hastings, Rye and Battle. Some lovely local pubs nearby. Hotel is quirky but nicely decorated. Needs a bit of TLC especially the pool area but the kids loved it.

Only stayed one night on our south coast quick tour. Lovely greeeting on arrival. We were even offered a cup of tea. The room was lovely and comfortable with a great walk in shower. Excellent breakfast. Very good staff. Would highly recommend

Fabulous hotel
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the family room at the top of the hotel. The ‘room’ is actually more of a suite, with three bedrooms, a living area and a bathroom. Perfect for families who need more space. The staff without exception were friendly and helpful and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and be sure to check out the secret swimming pool if it’s open! The hotel itself is quirky and interesting. Breakfast was good. A short drive into Hastings with a good selection of pubs more locally too for dinner. Highly recommend a stay here.

I had two nights. I was welcomed with a choice of coffee or tea. I was tired from my drive, a welcome surprise. Very friendly staff. My room had lots of character. Nice slanted wooden floors (yes one should pay more slanted floors). Old world character. My bed was off the chimney breast from below. With twisted brickwork patterning. Again great look and great charm. Bathroom was nice too, real water pressure and a great walk in shower! I’d stay again.
