Like the rest of Helen, this hotel has a German theme. It has a great location, within easy walking distance to the shops and town square in Helen. It is run by a very nice family. They are doing some renovations to the hotel.

Only thing I would recommend is need to do some repairs on door and door frames. Beds were great just need to have sheets that fit the bed (just the fitted sheet only). Tv needs to have more channels.

Great location. Especially if you plan to go for Oktoberfest. A few minutes away which avoids the traffic congestion. My only issue is that the room had some patches which they were never painted. But again, since I went for Oktoberfest and barely spent time in the room, it wasn't a big deal.

For the surge price due to Oktoberfest, it was about what I expected. Nothing special, but a good option to stay overnight after celebrating & drinking in Helen all day. Would not stay here more than a night though, the shower and bathroom area did not appear very clean, there was urine in the stairwell (dog urine... I hope) which smelt awful. The rooms were also a bit muggy. The staff member that helped us check in was friendly however.

It's a really cute spot in downtown helen and there is a circle K right beside it witch is convenient. The staff is very nice and welcoming ! I definitely recommend staying here !

Oktoberfest Trip
We had an amazing stay at the Alpine Valley Inn. They allowed us to check in a little early so we could start our vacation immediately. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to the festival easily. Definitely a great vacation!

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE
Quite possibly the worst property we've ever stayed in. We are not terribly picky but this place is not clean! Dirty bathrub, moldy shower curtain and absolutely disgusting upholstered chair. We had reservations for 2 nights but left after 1 eventhough we couldn't get a refund. When we explained why we were leaving the desk clerk seeemed unconcerned about the dirty conditions. He said that was up to the owners. Apparently they don't care either.

I would gladly give this motel 5 stars if it weren’t for the overall condition of the hotel. The family that runs it is very nice and quick to assist in any way needed. The cleanliness of the hotel… let’s just say what could be clean was very clean. Sheets, linen, floor… all were spotless and shows they take pride in the day to day cleaning. Now for the downside, the motel is in desperate need of a professional and total remodel. It is clearly evident that the owners repair what needs to be repaired but what you end up with is dozens upon dozens of patched work repairs. Every wall in the room has numerous holes that were patched and painted over but you can see the drywall tape and the paint is slightly different colors. The bathroom showed signs of water damage and possibly mold that was just painted over. The bath tub was very badly stained a rusty color. I will say this is a GOOD motel to stay at if that is all your budget can afford or you’re there as a contracted worker and saving money is your goal. However, if you have little ones crawling around or can afford to double the cost of the room is recommend going somewhere else.

Oktoberfest
We stayed overnight to attend Oktoberfest. Hotel was dated and in need of repairs. Our refrigerator did not work and door frame had been broken and painted over. Check in was easy and hotel was convenient to downtown activities so it was adequate for an overnight stay.

I originally booked a double bed room. I was bumped to a king single “by Expedia”, I was told as the excuse but was offered another single bed room bc we are two women who were traveling as friends and wanted our own beds. My room was $314/night, the window lock was broken, the sink and tub leaked water, and there was some wall areas that needed finish painting. The property needs pressure washing and painting. For the money, just for one night, I was really dissatisfied. The water woke us up at night and we had to real work with the knobs on faucets to stop the leaking sound.
