Started my with with rude service from Grace, not so aloha of a greeting. Elevators were not working well and industrial fans all down the hallway. WiFi was unusable - sent a tech up who did not know all 3 of my devices on the correct WiFi didn’t work.

Elevators Only 2 were working, very slow. No service Elevators, which means we often saw employees with big carts. Wait time was long. Room service. Using plastic cutlery and paper plates . Got our order wrong. Not worth it. Noise. Twice a week in the morning employee is trimming the grass Very noisy. Floors 2, 3, 4 and 5 have large noise fans working for 24 hours. Bare walls. All walls I rooms have no art or anything, some have holes. Food quality in restaurant Was mediocre at best. They also missed servicing our room. Staff was friendly and nice. Overall hotel looks like in need of a huge renovation. Pool is tiny.not all rooms have oceans views. Golf Is not on premises, it's a not that close. Nice to see turtles on the beach, but swimming beach or any sand at all Rooms only have papers cups. For a 4 star hotel, or one performing to be one overall it's disappointing.

Quick acting, positive staff. Despite a fire alarm in the morning, able isolate the issue quickly. Despite dealing with the flooding due to a fire sprinkler knocking out the elevators, helped guests with difficulties deal with stairs, especially with luggage.

I booked because I had known this hotel had undergone significant renovation's. Also to my surprise was this hotel is VALET PARKING ONLY. In little old Hilo, come on Hilton READ THE ROOM. I am from Hilo and I can tell you there is not one business or hotel that mandates valet parking. I wish I had been notified about this prior to check in but had I, I probably would’ve canceled. And boy do I wish I did. It’s an obvious cash grab for a failing hotel. I had no issues with the staff they were great but the executives who are running this place are out of touch. Over all I was deeply disappointed upon getting to my room there were putty marks all over the walls and the original windows peeling all over the floor. The elevator set off a fire alarm my first morning and then was out of commission my week long stay making getting up or down a pain.

Beautiful Kona hotel
Check-in was super fast and easy. Michael was very helpful in setting up the luau. The resort is beautiful surrounded by amazing flowers and tropical foliage. The pools are spacious and kept very clean. Even though the hotel is not new, it is kept very well maintained. The mantra ray night snorkeling adventure is right off the hotel, also.

The property itself is beautiful. It could definitely use some cosmetic work on the inside and outside. Pictures online looked a lot nicer than the room was in person. Looking at walls with holes in it as you go through a transition with new artwork?? The curtain in the bathroom is too short so you don’t get complete privacy when using the the bathroom. Loved the cookie at check-in.

The building and rooms need a complete facelift. I was shocked at the state of the outside. Rust dirt and possibly mold. We were in room 726. The additional fees! $39.00 per day for 2 bottles of water, 9 holes of golf and 2 drink tickets. I contacted the hotel before we arrived and said we do not want any of that but was told it is mandatory. We are not golfers. The drinks we were allowed to have with the tickets were awful. The white wine was a terrible chardonnay. We didn't have any choices. We used 2 bottles near the end of our stay. When I asked for more was told we only get them on the first day. What the hell is the 39.00 for. Outrageous. Valet parking. Was told we have to pay 25.00 per day for our car to be parked on their lot or we had to park on the street. I did not want a rental out on the street so we took the valet. Their parking lot is huge. They should make a section for parking ourselves for 5 to 10.00 per day. The service in the restaurant was not good. They have young people there that need to be retrained. They stood around talking to each other. I had to flag them for service. One girl who I think was suppose to be the Hostess just stood at the bar. No one was ever at the podium. The breakfast food was ok. The rest of the menu was not good. I had the turkey dinner. It was the worst meal I have had. The turkey was very very dry and no flavour. The veg were soggy and there was about 1 tbsp of gravy. Terrible. We'll never stay there again.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in
Extremely disappointed. Upon arrival we were informed the room we booked 6 months prior was not available (corner king with lanai) They stated they were"downgrading"us to a double queen at the reception desk. I asked why and the receptionist said its not my fault you booked through expedia. You should have booked directly through us and said that hotels.com rents out rooms that are not available all the time and they shouldn't. I stated they should compensate us back for the downgraded room. She refused compensation in any way stating the room was nice. We were tired after flying all day and it was late. We were left with no options but to stay. So what started bad only got worse. The room is nothing like the pictures. It is dated with torn carpet. We had to step over exposed tack strip every time we walked to the bathroom. The pictures were ripped off the walls. There was mold actively blowing out of the vent. One bed was unusable as the position of the vent blew mold directly in your face. The balconies were so rusted they looked like the building should be condemned. I did not feel safe to walk out on them. Honestly I have stayed in nicer rooms that cost $49 a night and not $300+fees. No self parking, only valet but you can park on the street and walk. With the mandatory resort fees you receive two "free" drinks at the bar. My husband drank one and within minutes was vomiting. We will never stay here again.
